I was friends with one of his officers back in the prison. So whenever stuff like this comes up I think, "I need to tell Chekov that." [But she can't.]

It's Pavel Chekov. He's from Russia. And sometimes I decide I should use last names more. [Not that she's very consistent with it.]

I can see the appeal, especially if they don't mind. When I hear "Danvers" though, I think of my sister.

Yeah, with Schott there's always a constant risk of breaking out into Hamilton at any moment.

Anyway, the point is, there's a song called "My Shot" and it's like "I'm not throwing away my shot" and anyway you can get where I'm going with this? Maybe?

I guess the other weird thing is you were to call me Zor-El. It's actually my dad's name.

Does that mean his name was Zor-El Zor-El?

Um, no. We're the House of El. So my cousin is Kal-El, his father was Jor-El, my dad is Zor-El. Kind of a mono-name thing.

But you're Kara Zor-El instead of Kara-El? Guys versus girls kind of thing?

Yeah. Kara-El sounds weird, anyway. Too many vowels.

I guess I could call you Supergirl, but then you'd have to call me Shadowcat.

Well, there are worse codenames.
