[ the feed jumps straight to broadcast with kate bishop's face framed in the shot's centre. she must have only recently been below on the poisoned moon because she's still wearing her mask. give her a moment, and she's tugging it down around her neck before removing it completely. ]

Quick and painless interruption. I promise. Couple weeks ago I talked to a guy who didn't even know about the Avengers. So who does? What about the Young Avengers? I've seen a few familiar faces but there's gotta be more of us. Right? [ oh, she sounds hopeful. ] Or maybe you've heard of the Avengers while you were stuck somewhere else before here. I'd love to hear about it.

[ --- kate waits in silence for a moment, before adding: ] Also, I wish the fleet had a dance club. [ ... ] Hawkeye, out.

[ later that evening, she can be found at the classier gin joint on the iskaulit. although she's in a dress and her hair could be accurately described as done, kate sits with a nursed singapore sling and a notepad at her corner of the bar. it looks as though she's reviewing earlier conversations from the network, and is transcribing the occasional note. that said, she seems approachable. whenever someone passes by, she nods a greeting and smiles. doesn't hurt to be polite. ]

Not at all. As long as you don't mind me using names besides their real ones until they're here to say otherwise. [ ... ] At least, for my team. Clint and I work together too but -- well, that name already seems familiar to you.

[ she leans back. ] The Young Avengers have a pretty fluid membership roster. There's me, Wiccan, Hulkling, Speed, America, and -- Prodigy, I suppose. Sometimes. [ should she mention loki? noh-varr? nah. they weren't really teammates after all. ]

Patriot and Stature used to be members.

[ that comes with a pregnant pause. does this vision know cassie, she wonders? ]

[Fascinating. None of those sound familiar, though there are clearly similar notes here and there. He shakes his head, looking a bit rueful.]

I can't say any of them sound familiar, unless "Speed" is a name Pietro Maximoff took for himself.

Nnnot quite. More like Quicksilver's nephew.

[ and your (sorta) son. c: surprise. ]

[OH REALLY well he has no idea about the son part, obviously, but his face lights up anyway.]

If Wanda has a son old enough to be an Avenger, you must be significantly ahead of my timeline.

Two sons, actually. Twin boys.

[ and it's oh so complicated. ]

I suppose that shouldn't surprise me. Does the other take more after her, then?

He's a reality warper, too, if that's what you're asking.

[He nods, even if that's an unusual way to describe her powers. As good as any, he supposes.]

May I ask what year it is, for you?

[Well, that's...a thing.]

It was May of 2015 when I was created, and I was brought here shortly after.

[ -- hells bells, that puts him at a newer model than even jonas had been. she frowns. ]

But you're not the first, right? You mean this version of you was just created in 2015.

[He shakes his head.]

The Avengers themselves were only formed in 2012, in my timeline. To my knowledge, I'm the only one to ever bear the name.

Wow. [ give her a moment, this has actually caused a bit of shock. kate frowns. ] That's a new variation on the theme. Even the Young Avengers have been around for years.

[Marvel: shocking even people who are used to multiple timelines. ~~Just wait till she learns they're a Disney franchise.~~]

It would most certainly explain why some of us are parents in your time, if we've been together that long. Though I'm sorry there have been enough crises to require it.

[ well, now she can't help herself. she's tried not to be nosy but... ]

So. Your Clint. He only became the avenging archer, like, four years ago for your world?

Something like that, yes. He was an agent of SHIELD long beforehand, though, and completed many missions for them.

[ that's...actually a little worrisome in its own right. especially considering what's just taken place back home, and what they're up against. ]

A full on agent, huh? [ ... ] He's more of a contractor. I've tagged along on a few SHIELD missions. They're a drag.

[If it's anything like what had happened with SHIELD in his time, it would be understandable. Yay Nazis?]

He had been, yes. Currently he's on leave celebrating the birth of his third child, a son. [His expression softens. It was a very cute baby picture.] There was something of an internal strife with SHIELD recently and the Avengers now operate separately; we claim Clint as one of our own.

[ HOLD THE PHONE. ]

Clint -- has kids? Three of them? [ who allowed that to happen. ] R-right.

[He laughs very lightly.]

Ah, that was my thought on hearing Wanda had children, actually. Cooper, Lila, and Nathaniel, and his wife is Laura. He wasn't exactly forthcoming about their existence, but it's hardly relevant here.

I mean, I know our Clint was married. Once upon a time. But not to anyone named Laura...

[ -- and certainly not with kids. right? ]

[As far as you know. Anything is possible in the multiverse.]

Yet he was quite obviously still Hawkeye the archer. I wonder where exactly our times diverged? It seems to be rather severe.

It's just, some days I don't exactly trust Clint to look after himself -- let alone a family. But...wow, I guess in an infinite number of possible worlds? There must be at least one Barton with a shred of personal responsibility.

[ she's being harsh. but that's what she does. ]

From what I've heard, Laura is frighteningly competent.

She'd have to be. [ ... ] The Clint that I know all too well is actually a part of the Fleet. Met him, yet?
