[so, on the Station, there was a bit of a fight involving a couple of elves and a demi-god, and someone got their heart crushed (quite literally).

the audience loved it! ratings skyrocketed! and there's probably some good gossip to be had.

if anyone wants to catch the participants after it's all over, or wants a place to hold their own conversations or interactions related in any way to the aftermath, this is the place to do it.]

I'm not asking you to persuade anyone with kind words. If he ever meets me, I'm sure he'll hate me just as much, seeing as we share a common element in our blood.

This isn't a job-- it's a joke.

I'm talking about the job that I was created for. According to that, I'm not supposed to interfere at all.

Tek, it's not that I am not sympathetic or that I do not understand what you are saying. I do and I can relate to an extent.

That said, I do not and will not believe for one single instant that you actually care about what someone else decided your entire purpose for existing would be.

You make your own choices. You live your own life. That is very clear immediately to anyone who meets you.

You complained-- you said you were insulted by being relegated to the low, unremarkable ranks of "civilian". Those were your words. Now I am giving you an opportunity to be something more and your only excuse is that it's against your nature?

Though, I am still claiming my nature as the primary reason. Not because I am inexorably bound to it, but because the effort to go so far against it, in this case, is not worth it to me.

So, I will weigh each case as it presents itself to me at the time... but I will not promise a thing.

[ Maybe it helps too that she is so easy on the eyes and those ethereal looks of hers tend to just make both her anger and her gratitude all the lovelier to witness. A lot of people find it distracting. ]

[while perhaps not distracted by it, he does tend to give more credit to beautiful things. she does get points for being pretty.

If there are specific names that you would like me to look out for, that is a much easier thing to convince me of than some blanket protection for the entire fleet.

What, a list of people to guard? I can't give you that. It would imply that I'm fine with you disgregarding the safety of everyone else and I am not. Simply because I do not know everyone here nor am attached to them emotionally, does not mean that they don't have others who care for them. It doesn't negate their value as people who deserve to be safe and healthy. It wouldn't be right to dismiss their well-being and needs as insignificant or unworthy of attention based on my personal connections.
