[It isn't much! They get what they can from planet to planet. Her first week here she ate nothing but the weird jerky she'd been given, intermingled with the gross goop they usually get. It was a rough week. Luckily- she's eaten worse things. Having to cook her own horse after it died of starvation in the desert leading to Quarth had been slightly unpleasant but she'd take horse meat over the goop any day.]

Occasionally, we do get supplies when we travel from planet to planet. There is a small pantry aboard the ship but it mostly has more of the usual suspects.

[The pumpkin spice protein might be a nice dip? She's tried the protein thing herself but not as a dip. That might be good? Clearly she needed to try it.]

The food is better? I suppose you are fortunate to have arrived then!

[You poor thing.]

That's great! Maybe I can find something down on the moon to stock up some more. [It's expensive as hell, but what else is he going to use his money for? What is saving? Someone's never had to deal with money before, clearly.]

I'd say so. [He munches on the dipped apples - tastes good to him.] We haven't been attacked once yet, so it's already better than where I was. As for the food, picture this only with like one flavor.
moonofmylife: (and if I’m fake I ain't notice)

I can't say how much I trust the moon just yet, but if you're willing to brave the air down there then be sure to bring me something back as well?

[She smiles, her violet eyes lighting up with excitement.]

That must have been dreadful - only one flavor. I would give anything to have some food from home - even horse meat is better than this.

[She gestures to the goop he's currently dipping his apple in.]
forcesensitive: (oh really?)

Oh, the masks work pretty good. I'm used to that kind of thing.

[Double-checking filters, that's just regular maintenance. The kind of thing you do all the time because your life depends on it. You know, everyday stuff.]

Never had horse, but it's probably better than tauntaun. Ahsoka was saying one of the planets they were on had lots of meat, so maybe the next one we get to will have some decent resupply. Do we have storage for that, if we find it?
moonofmylife: (let me get this straight)

[personal profile] moonofmylife 2016-04-27 05:25 pm (UTC)(link)
I see. Where I'm from, we have no such protections from air like it.

[Because what is technology.]

I'm sorry what is a - taun... taun?

[She's careful trying to pronounce it correctly, curious about if it's similar to horse at all.]

We do have things to keep food cool, but a lot of the food readily aboard the ship comes from the machines.
forcesensitive: (on that side)

[personal profile] forcesensitive 2016-04-28 03:50 am (UTC)(link)
Bet you don't need it, either. We only ever had to wear them when we were in places humans couldn't live.

[Technology is cool, duh.]

Oh, they're these big bipeds you can ride. They're real resistant to the cold and they can go pretty long without having to rest. Smell awful, though. And they taste worse.

Yeah, the dispensers look pretty solid. But good to know we have some space if we do find anything. Maybe they'll get a shipment in?
moonofmylife: (7)

[Dany laughs a bit about the description of the biped creatures.]

When you're hungry, anything will do, won't it? That's how it is anywhere.

[Here included. She wasn't too picky about the gels but she did miss real food that didn't come from other worlds. She wished they had an unlimited supply on the ship.]

Perhaps. It is hard to say what we receive with each trip. I have not been here as long as others.
forcesensitive: (ready for action)

Exactly. When it's a choice between starving and eating gross food--

[He doesn't finish, because they both know the answer.]

Okay. I'll stay alert for anything that comes our way.
