[It's good to see another familiar face from his first arrival on his ship, especially after he'd had an enlightening discussion with the Captain and now knows her as Jojo's girlfriend. When he investigates the sounds, Suzie gets a friendly wave and a smile from the local newbie.]

Finn! Hi! Oh, haha, did you get assigned to the Caprine, then? That's so great! Then you must've met Jojo and Caesar by now — they're some of the friends I was telling you about that one time!

[TECHNICALLY NOT UNTRUE. They are still definitely her friends. They are also a lot more than her friends but this is polite company we're talking about.]

Mm, I hope I'm not in the way or anything! I just wanted to work on things for the big event that's coming up, and the Bloodsport was farther away from where I was...wearing those masks all the time is really awful, isn't it? They stick on my face and feel so big and clunky!

I did, yeah. [He grins back and leans up against the wall.] Jojo said you come over to cook sometimes? And that you three have a, kind of a thing? [Words for this, he lacks them. But he knows, and it doesn't seem to bother him in the slightest.] So it's good to know you'll be visiting. We got plenty of room.

[He shakes his head a little ruefully.] It's not the first time I've been in a mask for a while. Doesn't bother me too much, but if you're not used to it I could see why.

Mmph, if you can call anything that anybody does in kitchens like these cooking. All that powder and goop instead of real food...

But then she pauses a minute in her work, a little flush heating up her cheeks; to her credit, she doesn't look quite so embarrassed about it as just bashful and pleased.]

Oh, um. Haha, he said that, huh...well, he's right! I think that's why Caesar came to live here, instead of on the Tourist where he used to be. I would've, too, but I need to be on the Bloodsport with my boss — that's my job, I'm her assistant. Along with being an engineer in this fleet, I mean!

[Finn shakes his head, still smiling.] If it makes you feel any better, I'm used to getting worse. At least we have flavors here.

Yeah? Sounds busy. I get to split Security here, so it's not too bad. More free time than I'm used to, actually.

[He gestures to the piles of...fabric, is it?] What're you making?

This? Oh, people on the moon surface keep talking about it! There's some kind of gathering that everybody is getting ready for, and they're all preparing costumes! But the store-bought ones are expensive and after what happened to our money at the last station, I don't want to be irresponsible with it, so I decided to make a little costume instead!

[She picks up what is indeed a mess of fabric, now cut in a vaguely triangular shape, which she drapes along her shoulders with the points at each of her wrists, and the third down near the small of her back.]

I'm going to be a songbird! And these are my wings, I hope...if I can get them to come out right.

Oh! The--the masquerade thing? [That's right, he'd been planning to ask Poe about that. Finn still hasn't decided if he's going yet, though he's leaning toward yes.

He takes a closer look at the fabric, nodding as she demonstrates.] Yeah, I can see the wings. Did you get a mask already or are you going to wait till the costume is done?

Mm, no, I decided to wait. I'm so tired of masks — even fun ones! So I think I'll finish the costume first and then try to find a mask that looks good with it.

[She hums a little.]

Maybe one with a pointed nose, like a beak...oh! What about you? Are you working on a costume, too?

It's--better when we don't have to wear them, yeah. [BOY does he know that feel.] But I'm used to it, so it doesn't bother me.

[He shakes his head.] Wasn't sure if I was going to go, but now I think I am. I'll probably look for something with Poe, my friend from home. Maybe we can find something that matches.

[ragazzina]

Oh, that sounds like fun! Mmm, and there are so many good matching costumes you could do, too, like — um —

[You know that moment when you make the mistake of saying "there are so many" of something and then immediately find yourself rendered unable to produce a single one? It's super awkward. That is this moment. It is the worst.]

[Actually, Finn's never seen a bee before, so the reference goes over his head. But he grins.]

I was thinking more like two of the same thing in different styles. Like two birds. Or--probably not birds, but you get the idea. I want to look around at what there is, cause I can't really make it myself.
