It's funny how we find out who we can trust. The strangest, if not most dire of situations seems to put that to the test the best.

[Much like she had with Zevran, and even Morrigan.]

Your world has such a place as well, where spirits dwell?

Boy, ain't that the truth.

It does. It's kinda- [he waves one hand over the other ] overlapped? Like sometimes we can see spirits, sometimes we can't. But Aang can always contact them, and speak to them and stuff.

It sounds like the Fade a bit, where it occupies the same space but a different... realm? We cannot see our spirits, not unless they can come across in a place where the Veil is thin. Well, and in our sleep, but unless you're a mage, they don't bother with you too much besides giving you dreams.

Yeah, that sounds about the same as ours. It's just creepy weirdness to me, I've left all that stuff to Aang.

Though I was kidnapped into the spirit realm once. I don't really remember it, though. They had no bathrooms.

Agreed. I leave that to our mages to understand.

[And hopefully not get possessed in the mean time.]

No bathrooms? The humanity!

Yeeeep, leave it to the experts.

[Probably not. Maybe. ]

It was the WORST.

You could not simply... imagine it into being? Or does your spirit world not work like that?
alwayscomeback: (And it won’t help you)

[personal profile] alwayscomeback 2016-05-02 09:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Not really. I mean, my memories are fuzzy about it anyway so-

I think a bender would do better in there than a non-bender, honestly. They're more....magic-y.
bryces_pup: (4)

[personal profile] bryces_pup 2016-05-03 02:19 am (UTC)(link)
But I thought it wasn't magic? [She laughs a little, because it was always stressed to her that bending was not magic.] Don't let them catch you saying that.
alwayscomeback: DNS (I'm just out to find)

[personal profile] alwayscomeback 2016-05-03 10:42 pm (UTC)(link)
That's what I call it. They do get pretty annoyed when I call it that, though. Not that they can prove it isn't magic.

It does sound like magic! I am glad it's not just me.

[He loves you, Riona, so much. ]

Seriously! I mean, if it's people suddenly making the elements do what they want? I call that magic. There's no science behind it.

[personal profile] bryces_pup 2016-05-04 10:38 pm (UTC)(link)
[TO BE FAIR magic is an actual thing in her world. But she loves you too Sokka.]

It doesn't seem all that different from how the mages do it back home. Well, they draw from the power of the Fade and all that, but the basic principle seems to be the same. Zuko shoots fire, mages shoot fire. Not that much different.

[personal profile] alwayscomeback 2016-05-06 07:57 pm (UTC)(link)
[MAGIC IS THE WORST OK. They need to be brothers in arms or something. ]

Thank you. The benders really don't get this at all. And it's like hey, if only certain people can do it and not everyone, guess what? It's magic.

[personal profile] bryces_pup 2016-05-06 08:54 pm (UTC)(link)
That's how it is in Thedas, too. Why do they insist it's not magic?
alwayscomeback: DNS (Climbing the mountain)

[personal profile] alwayscomeback 2016-05-06 11:09 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't know. I mean, it's not like there's a stigmata against it where I come from? I don't get all the denial.
bryces_pup: (87)

[personal profile] bryces_pup 2016-05-07 12:21 am (UTC)(link)
[There's a huge stigma in Thedas, but she's glad to hear that's not the case with his world.]

Perhaps it's a matter of arbitrary distinction. "No no, I'm not a knight, I'm a chevalier. Get it right, you Fereldan dog." [Said in her most ridiculous Orlesian accent... meaning she was imitating Isolde.]
alwayscomeback: DNS (It may sound absurd)

...They sound snooty.

[personal profile] bryces_pup 2016-05-14 10:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Many Orlesians are. As a citizen of Ferelden, it's my duty to make fun of them at every possible opportunity.
alwayscomeback: (And block my ears)

[personal profile] alwayscomeback 2016-05-15 08:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Now that is the sort of duty I can stand behind. Snobs need as much mockery as we can throw at them. It's good for them.

Even if they can't, it'll make other people take notice and learn to treat them with less reverence than before.
