It's Star Trek and that isn't exactly - you know, the same thing as this.

Right. . . . Wait, I think I see something on the side.

[ And the video flickers on, the red light glowing softly. It focuses on two men. One in a wheelchair and the other right next to him, peering curiously at the camera before they step back satisfied. ]

Well, that’s over and done with. Hello to anyone who might be out there. My name is Charles Xavier and this is Hank McCoy. Apparently we’ve been kidnapped again, by an unknown force again for some mysterious reason.

[muttered:] Again. [and louder] So if anyone would be kind enough to explain exactly what's going on, we'd appreciate it. You have our thanks in advance.

But do keep it pertinent.

So you're not curious about these other alien planets nearby? I heard there's one right below.

[beathach]

It's a moon, actually. Polluted. We'd need masks if we go down to the surface.

[he raises both eyebrows at Charles] Don't tell me you're not curious either.

[axiomed]

I would be lying if I said otherwise.

[ Still, he wonders if he'll manage getting around without a problem. Briefly, he misses being able to quest for a better wheelchair. ]

[beathach]

[he hums, faintly amused]

So we'll just have to figure out a way to get you down there.

[he isn't a mind reader, but like hell is he going if Charles can't]

[axiomed]

I doubt they're wheelchair-friendly down there.

[ And he can't use his other form. ]

[beathach]

I could carry you.

[princess-style. He manages to keep a straight face]

[axiomed]

I have done nothing to deserve that.

[beathach]

I wasn't aware that was considered a punishment.

[axiomed]

Says the man who never has to get carried.

Only because no one can manage it.

Maybe I can ask that nice man Apollo to do it.

[ He laughs softly. ]

[LAUGH IT UP XAVIER.

Hank shifts to just sit on the floor proper, now that things have . . . calmed down, mostly]

So what do you make of . . . all of this? [he keeps it general, now that they know more about what's going on. He rest his arms on his knees and flaps one hand to gesture]

[axiomed]

It is a similar premise but with more freedom. I do think there's some truth to the reality show idea that they have us for, though I can't imagine how much they'll get out of it.

[beathach]

Maybe they'll find us too boring and send us home.

[though, he doesn't believe that in the least. He purses his lips, thoughtful] It really isn't that different, is it. We're just in - space, instead of another realm.

[axiomed]

[ He gestures, his mind thinking quickly. ]

Perhaps that's our way out. This isn't their realm. They're not fully in control here. Something is bound to slip up.

[beathach]

Oh, I'm sure, eventually. [he opens his mouth to continue but pauses, glancing around. He doesn't know if they're watching or not, and that makes him more uncomfortable than most everything else they've experienced today]

We just have to be vigilant. [he makes a brief gesture up at himself, eyebrows raised. Though, we may not want to talk about - that out loud much. At least, in detail.]

[axiomed]

[ I'm sure they have some knowledge of telepathy, Charles replies. He doubts they would let him in and not pick up on that.

Perhaps the best way to get privacy is off the ship. ]

[beathach]

[he doesn't say it, exactly, but he sure thinks about how much that sucks really, really hard]

Well. All the more reason to find a way for you to go down to the moon.

[axiomed]

Yes. And look into upgrading this chair.

[beathach]

That too. [something else he could look into when he goes into hiding]
