I am pushing it, Hank. I thought you knew about these from that show you keep watching. Space Trek?

It's Star Trek and that isn't exactly - you know, the same thing as this.

Right. . . . Wait, I think I see something on the side.

[ And the video flickers on, the red light glowing softly. It focuses on two men. One in a wheelchair and the other right next to him, peering curiously at the camera before they step back satisfied. ]

Well, that’s over and done with. Hello to anyone who might be out there. My name is Charles Xavier and this is Hank McCoy. Apparently we’ve been kidnapped again, by an unknown force again for some mysterious reason.

[muttered:] Again. [and louder] So if anyone would be kind enough to explain exactly what's going on, we'd appreciate it. You have our thanks in advance.

Yes! It's... Well, ignoring the present circumstances, it's good to see you once more.

[considering all the conversations he's been having up until this point, Lace is more than a welcome sight. He lights up, even smiling himself]

Yeah - it's good to see you too, though. How have you been? And - how long have you been here?

I believe it's been several months. I've been well! What about you? Were you able to finish your mirror before being brought here?

Mm, I did - ah, we all did, Charles, Erik, and I - at the same time, not too longer after you left. We were able to go home together.

Oh, that's wonderful! Erik told me he was able to return home, but I didn't realize the two of you accompanied him.

It must have been nice to see your home again. How long did you spend there?

It was nice, yeah, I missed the mansion. [he looks a little wry] Long enough to get used to - normal life again. "Normal" for us, anyway.

Might I hear about what you've been up to?

Cleaning, mostly. [he grins a bit] Charles is opening the school again, so we've been preparing for that.

What about you? You said you've been here for months, but - you went home first, I hope?

Oh, I hadn't realized it was being used as a school! What sort of things are the three of you going to teach?

Yes, that's correct. I was able to return for quite a while, actually. I think it's been around two years since I last saw you.

It's a school for mutants - people with powers, like us. Where children can come and learn how to control and use their powers safely. We'll probably be juggling all sorts of subjects outside of that, until we hire more teachers.

That's - . . . two years? Really? I'm glad you were able to go home, though, and for so long before . . . well, doing all this again. [he makes a vague gesture]

It sounds lovely. I imagine it'll help many people.

I'm glad as well. Although, honestly, being pulled here... In many ways it isn't as frustrating as Kyriakos. It certainly isn't as violent.

We hope so. Charles - all of us, we really want it to work this time.

Well that's . . . a relief. I haven't heard anything that's - overly concerning. E-Er, about this place, I mean. [he carefully specifies because he's heard a lot of concerning things]

The only thing I would caution you about...

If you wish to explore the planet we're currently on, please do wear the mask they give you.

Ah - right, because it's polluted. I've heard.

. . . that's really it?

Apart from the obvious advice of not flying the shuttles until you're absolutely certain you can operate them... There really isn't much danger here that I've witnessed.

Of course, the fact that they designed a security augment and stocked many of the ships with weaponry does seem to imply that there's at least the potential for conflict.

That's . . . huh. [that's so . . . not what he expected at all] I know how to pilot, but - right. I won't until - er, I can get a look at it first, at least.

Potential, but there hasn't been any yet?

Not in the time that I've been here, no. There was some controversy with gumballs at the last place the fleet stopped, but no harm came of it.

That sounds . . . surprisingly innocent.

It's certainly very different from Kyriakos. It's a positive change, though of course it's unfortunate that we were brought here in the first place.

Ah - yeah. I keep expecting the other shoe to drop, you know - surprise, there's games and - [he makes a vague gesture] But it hasn't happened yet.

It hasn't happened in several months. Though... I have heard that before I arrived, something akin to the heart games we experienced in that place occurred.

Of all the games . . . [he makes a face. He hated heart games] It - could be worse, I guess.

Hopefully they won't occur again. But... You're correct in saying it could have been worse.

May I ask what augment you've been assigned?

Much worse. [he nods in agreement]

Oh, uh - I guess I'll be working in a lab at some point? [he says it both amused and a little wryly]

Oh! Lab support? That sounds fitting. I hope whatever ship you're assigned to is a good fit.
