today, the pale pink silks are tainted, as well as the usual fair skin with a mixture of dirt, mud, leaves and at least three colors of paint. ]

I do believe I won against the locals in their odd little paint game. I find it quite brilliant if a little bit of a hazard if one is very attached to their clothes.

[ the queen to be seems much more of a brat today ]

I offer a different game of chance. some smallfolk in my realm say that one can tell someone's future and their traits according to the palm of their hands. I was told it is all false but.

A guessing game! I shall attempt to read your palm and if three of my guesses are correct, that must be worth a prize. I shall leave it to you to choose what to give me. If I lose, I shall of course be in debt of one prize to my company.

[ Look who's, by Haruka's world's standards, all dressed up for the occasion. That arm is completely at your disposal. ] Margaery.

[ That was a pronunciation test. (She passed it.) A smile as she begins strolling down the hallway. ] That's a pretty dress. It suits you.

[ It's also in two of her favorite colors, but she'll leave that part unsaid. ]

You are so sweet to notice. It is the style of my realm. There are so many who would find it s bit old fashioned and odd but it reminds me of home.

[ especially as it is more in the style of highgarden than king's landing. the flowers and the softer fabrics. ]

I must sound so silly -

Hardly. It's a nice change of pace.

[ After all the, you know, space. And particularly given the current moon.

She grins. ] Should we sit down somewhere?

Fashion here is so different than it is in my realm. I almost wish to try something new for a change and yet I always fear I shall look terribly absurd.

[ she smiles, sunny and cooperative as ever ]

[ Today is full of firsts for Haruka. She'll lead Margaery to one of the common areas, then, looking for a good place to tuck themselves out of the way for the reading. ] I doubt anyone lovely as you could look poorly if they tried.

[ Did the air just glitter? Optical illusion, maybe. ]

My lady offers me a great compliment, one I shall always strive to be worthy of.

[ a rater easy task for a queen consort. looks are something that margaery value as important for a queen. after all, the people see their queen more often than they hear her speak ]

[ Haruka chuckles: hedging her bets? That amuses her. (And somewhat reassures her - the last classy woman with mental skills she met could see right through her. ~~The fact that she wants to spend her life with said woman is beside the point.~~)

Here, then, is her hand, palm up. It's strong, but she takes good care of her nails and her fingers are surprisingly delicate for such a tall woman. ] Be my guest.

[ She can't say she isn't curious. ]

[ she hums dramatically as she inspects it ]

well, my Lady, I am happy to say the line which suggests charm is quite long. I almost pity the person who shall be on the receiving end of it - they do not stand a chance.

[ a little wink ]

[ Well, then, her apologies in advance. ]

That's an interesting thing to note on a hand.

[ What are the priorities of the people who came up with this stuff?

Ah, but she shouldn't mock, even good-naturedly. This lovely young woman came all the way to Haruka's ship to do this for her. (And winked at Haruka, too, which was entertaining.) She falls silent again to let the seer work. ]

the power of a seer works in very mysterious ways.

[ she bites back a giggle. she does favor this game, when she played it with her cousins she's made absurd prophecies about their lives and they'd all laugh and eat their berry desserts. ]

it says here - you are very romantic.

[ Heh. Haruka shrugs, chuckling a little, but doesn't pull away. She can't say she'd say that about herself - she sees herself as more of a Realist who Never Looks Away, even from Unpleasant Matters - but an open mind is part of the fun of this activity, she's guessing.

So she keeps quiet (for the most part) to listen. ]

Well, I think it is quite clear, my Lady. Your charming personality and sweet nature assure you a happy future with much sweetness in it.

[ she smiles a little. it is a wish as much as it is a prophecy ]

There cannot be anything else for someone so lovely.

Do you always tell such pleasant fortunes?

[ Haruka doesn't sound averse, though. In fact, if you're not opposed - and your own hands are in range - she'll try curling those fingers around the "fortuneteller'"s. ] It's thoughtful.

[ she places a finger against her lips ]

is a secret. A fortune teller must have some secrets, yes?

[ Haruka laughs. She likes you. ] You're good at this.

[ She doesn't specify whether she means the fortunes or something else. ]

In all truth, my Lady mother would have made a face, such games are considered childish and unfit for a queen to be and yet I find them terribly fun, I cannot truly help it.

[ especially here where none can see ]

I'd prefer a sense of humor in my Queen.

[ Should she have been showing more respect, though? Eh. She's probably okay. She serves a Princess back home without much in the way of social pleasantries towards her, so. ] Your subjects are lucky.

It is I who is fortunate, to have their love. I am nit a queen yet, my Lady. I was brought here shortly before my wedding day.

[ an unfortunate timing, it was and one that she mislikes greatly but she knows better than to show anything but gratitude towards their hosts ]

[ It occurs to Haruka that she is still holding Margaery's hand.

She squeezes it. A thank-you for the reading, maybe. ]

[ some would say votes of confidence aren't worth much in a realm where she cannot be queen but those claims are foolish. if these people value margaery and see her as a fitting queen, it would be a mean to balance the claim of the dragon queen from the free cities and if there is an audience watching, what would they love more than a sweet, humble queen to be? ]

Well - you have been far too sweet to me and I asked nothing of you. tell me, how long have you been in this world?

Me?

[ Haruka laughs. ] I haven't done much.

[ That's not what was asked, Haruka. ]

Now I know that must be untrue. You seem so at ease here, so gracious in hosting me. I have a feeling my Lady is being humble.

[ she smiles. all ladies have their secrets, even more so than men. that much she understands well ]

but humility suits her.

[ This chuckle, and this laugh, are walking a fine line between that humility and an acknowledgment thereof. Being caught out deserves an answer. ] I might pilot the ship a little.

[ It's still not an answer to the original question. ]

[ well isn't that just marvelous and entirely outstanding? a woman being in such a position. modernity will never stop impressing one margaery tyrell ]

truly? then I must be the fleet's most fortunate guest, I have yet to meet anyone who navigates these ships.
