[ tadashi isn't entirely sure what he'd expected. more pomp and circumstance, maybe, or just some sort of warning - which was stupid. they hadn't received anything like that when honey lemon arrived or disappeared; why should he expect anything different now?

still, it takes him a few minutes to let the reality of the situation sink in, and he takes an uneasy breath before grabbing his communicator. his voice is uncharacteristically flat, monotone. ]

Hey, everyone. Uh - Hiro's gone. So - [ what does he even say here. ] - if you were working with him on any projects, or - just come see me about them, and I'll see what I can do.

[ there's silence for a moment, because the sound of her sniff is enough to make guilty tears prick his own eyes. god. he's never going to see him again, and this really, really sucks. ]

Yeah.

[ he's just going to hope that alex doesn't remark on the huskiness in his voice, the fact that he's trying to keep it low and neutral. ]

He's got a pretty bright future ahead of him.

[ without me in it. ]

[Fortunately, she doesn't know him well enough to catch anything off in his voice. She takes a deep breath, trying to center herself.]

I'm sorry. This sucks.

[Real eloquent, girl.]

... He reminded me of my brother, back home. It was kind of like having him here.

Yeah. "Sucks" is probably the best way to put it.

[ this still feels - surreal. sure, he knows hiro is gone, but the reality of that maybe hasn't entirely sunk in yet. ]

You've got a brother? What's his name?

I got two, Justin and Max. [Saying their names is hard. She doesn't do it often enough.] Justin was into the whole robots thing. Total geek.

[ishere]

Hey. I hear geeks are pretty cool these days.

[ man. he is trying. he is trying so hard. ]

But I hope you get to see them again soon.

[delincuente]

You too. [A slight pause.] I mean, I hope you see Hiro again soon. Not my brothers.

[ishere]

[ tadashi inhales softly, uncertain as to how to answer. ]

It's - okay, if I don't. He's got a lot to do at home.

[delincuente]

[Well. That certainly doesn't sound super good. She awkwardly looks down at her lap.]

I sort of don't want mine here either. They've got good lives, no need to mess them up.
