[ tadashi isn't entirely sure what he'd expected. more pomp and circumstance, maybe, or just some sort of warning - which was stupid. they hadn't received anything like that when honey lemon arrived or disappeared; why should he expect anything different now?

still, it takes him a few minutes to let the reality of the situation sink in, and he takes an uneasy breath before grabbing his communicator. his voice is uncharacteristically flat, monotone. ]

Hey, everyone. Uh - Hiro's gone. So - [ what does he even say here. ] - if you were working with him on any projects, or - just come see me about them, and I'll see what I can do.

[ A few minutes after he's made this broadcast, she appears behind him wherever he's at, and wraps her arms around him. Because, haha, what else can she really do?

(Also she's pretty upset about it too and could really use a hug right now herself, but you know, whatever. ) ]

[ he has no right to be upset. he knows he has no right to be upset.

it's just - difficult. the thought that he might never see hiro again.

tadashi turns in her hold, folding his arms around her in turn. ]

[ Ino is pretty sure he has every right to be upset, considering the situation and how much it sucks. ]

... Hey.

[ She just pulls him closer once he's turned around. She won't ask him to talk about it if he doesn't want to. ]

[ishere]

[ he just kind of presses his face against her head, lingering like that for a while. ]

Gonna be pretty weird without him here, isn't it.

[ She nods slowly, into his shirt. ]

I know he's got a lot to do, but ...

[ It wasn't his choice. He didn't want to leave, yet. He was going to help her find a way to travel back and forth ... ]

[The news catches him by surprise, as his face shows. Timcanpy is on his shoulder, first sharing in the surprise, and then seems to be...tearing up? Maybe? It's hard to tell when the thing has no eyes, but there's water and everything.]

[ mostly because tadashi can literally not handle imagining anything else. he takes a breath, trying to keep himself even. ]

Hiro's got too much to do to be anywhere else.

[Whatever Tadashi, the tiny horse is going to seek you out. He knows a party can't fix this, but it's in his very nature to try and help people if they're feeling down. Make them feel...something, anything. Some way to lessen the pain.

So, he'll quietly walk over to sit near him, ears folded back sadly. He liked Hiro a lot, he was a good kid. ]

[ he's a little surprised when the pony shows up in his lab, but he straightens up regardless, half-smiling at him. ]

Thanks. It's - he's got a lot to do at home.

[Sorry, Tadashi, it's literally his destiny to make people feel better, even at their worst. He wouldn't have stayed away even if he wanted to. Which he absolutely doesn't. ]

Yeah, he's got a big future ahead of him. I'm pretty sure he could change the world if he put his mind to it.

He's going to. There's no way that he isn't.

[ tadashi's smile at cheese's comment is a little bittersweet, though. ]

Is he? Then - alright, that's not so bad.

[ he's not sure how he'd handle the heartbreak if he woke up here to find ino gone, so... maybe that's not so bad. ]

It sounds as if this Hiro was very close to you. I am sorry for your grief, stranger.

He was - is- Hiro's my brother. It was good to have him around, that's all.

[ Oh. Maglor's eyes slide shut against the memory of his brothers dying, one by one, and his voice is rich with understanding sympathy ]

Ah. That grief is a hard one indeed to bear. I hope you we will be reuninted soon.

[ we won't is what tadashi wants to say, but doesn't. he's already accepted the fact that he, himself, is dead. it's accepting that he'll never get to say goodbye to most of the people that he loves that he struggles with. ]

[ there's silence for a moment, because the sound of her sniff is enough to make guilty tears prick his own eyes. god. he's never going to see him again, and this really, really sucks. ]

[ he's just going to hope that alex doesn't remark on the huskiness in his voice, the fact that he's trying to keep it low and neutral. ]

He's got a pretty bright future ahead of him.

[Fortunately, she doesn't know him well enough to catch anything off in his voice. She takes a deep breath, trying to center herself.]
