[ tadashi isn't entirely sure what he'd expected. more pomp and circumstance, maybe, or just some sort of warning - which was stupid. they hadn't received anything like that when honey lemon arrived or disappeared; why should he expect anything different now?

still, it takes him a few minutes to let the reality of the situation sink in, and he takes an uneasy breath before grabbing his communicator. his voice is uncharacteristically flat, monotone. ]

Hey, everyone. Uh - Hiro's gone. So - [ what does he even say here. ] - if you were working with him on any projects, or - just come see me about them, and I'll see what I can do.

She looks up at him. And, very seriously: ]

I'd wear it every day.

[ She doesn't like this subject. She doesn't like thinking about if he was the one who had disappeared. ]

[ishere]

[ tadashi isn't quite taken aback by that, it's more than - he simply isn't sure how he's supposed to be reacting right now. this is so much different than finding out his own life was, technically, over. even then, he'd had hiro. it is quite literally the first time in fourteen years that he's been without his little brother.

it's weird.

he shakes his head, tries to move past it. ]

You should - put in for a capacity upgrade on your ship.

[ino]

[ Now that does surprise her -- in fact, she's not quite making the connection there. ]

... Eh? What's that about?

[ishere]

You're over capacity, aren't you? I mean - we've got plenty of space here, but I can't really see you moving ships...

[ino]

[ ... ]

Y-you're ... you're going to ... ?


[ She appears to have not been expecting that. Like, at all. ]

[ishere]

I mean, if that's okay - if you want the space, I just -

[ as tadashi belatedly realizes he didn't actually ask her. ]

I figured, I'm over there most of the time anyway.

[ She'd just kind of given up on the idea, since he'd wanted to be with Hiro. It hadn't crossed her mind that that was no longer a reason to stay. ]

I mean ... I would really like that.

[ There's a little embarrassed smile ]

[ishere]

Cool. I mean - good. I'd hoped so.

[ he's just going to meet it with an embarrassed little smile of his own. ]

I can stop feeling like such an interloper.

[ino]

Do you really feel like that?

[ She loosens her grip a little, but she's not letting go anytime soon ]

[ishere]

Not really, but it's a good excuse.

[ as if ... wanting to live with his girlfriend isn't a good enough reason... ]

[ino]

Jeez ...

[ She shakes her head ]

It's not like you need one.

[ishere]

Moving in with a girl. [ tadashi just shakes his head a little here. ] My Aunt Cass would lose her mind.

[ino]

What? You're an adult, aren't you?

[ She pauses ... ]

Then again, my dad would probably get pretty mad, too ...

[ishere]

Yeah, but I've shared a room with Hiro since we moved in with her. She's probably not gonna let us leave until we're thirty.

[ he smiles a little at her answer, though. ]

We'll just have to be subtle about things when we get back to your world. 'Hey, this is Tadashi, I found him in a ditch, he's gonna hang out at my place for a while.' No one will ever suspect.

[ino]

[ She raises her eyebrows a little. ]

"Yeah, don't worry about the fact that we're clearly a couple. I definitely just found him in this ditch a few days ago. "
