[Hank finds a counter and hops up onto it to sit, and makes a gesture for Erik to do the same if he wishes]

Mm, that would make sense. I like it, though. [so far, he hasn't had a single issue; he figures that's because Kate is from a world with mutants, and Leto doesn't seem phased by anything, but it still helps a lot] It's admittedly less private, but it's . . . not bad. I'm probably going to stay here.

Additional shielding? [he frowns; he knows there hasn't been an incident to warrant it, as far as he knows, but hearing that the augments come with such things sets him a little on edge] That's . . . certainly a benefit. I don't know if we have one - ah, an engineer. But I've only met Kate and Leto so far.

Logan's supposedly on this ship as well, but I haven't seen him yet.

[grandstanding]

[He doesn't sit on the counter, but he does lean back against it.] I've met Leto. [Erik rather wishes he hadn't. His opinion on Leto is... mixed, to say the least.]

How interesting. [That's delivered blandly. He's made no effort to seek out Logan, and has no plans of making any.]

[Hank raises both eyebrows]

Don't sound too pleased. [it's lighter, a teasing tone. Considering the last time either of them saw Logan, Hank isn't at all surprised that Erik isn't interested] But - you said you wanted to ask me something?

[grandstanding]

Yes, I did. Do you know of any chemicals that can strip toxins from metal?

[beathach]

I know a few. [he nods, tilting his head] It'd depend on what the toxins are, though.

[grandstanding]

Just about everything in the air on the moon? [It's not like Erik knows. He could ask the locals, sure, but it's easier to check with Hank who is likely to enjoy figuring out the answer.]

[beathach]

[he makes a face, but it's true, he would love figuring it out]

So, any number of things. [he sighs] I'm just going to assume you didn't bring a sample along.

[grandstanding]

I don't habitually carry poisoned metal around in my pocket. I do have some in my room on the Heron.

[A beat.]

In sealed plastic bags. [Just to be clear he's not an idiot.]

[beathach]

[he knows Erik isn't an idiot, which is why he doesn't even bat an eye]

Well - I could come by later to see, or it can wait until I get down to the moon myself. [he shrugs a shoulder] Either way I'll look into it. Unless they're chemicals I've never heard of, it shouldn't take long to find something to clean it up.

[grandstanding]

I could separate the outer layer from the core myself, but I'd rather use as much of it as possible.

[beathach]

[he nods; that makes perfect sense to him]

Can you tell what kind of metal it is?

[grandstanding]

It's the steel I want to work with. There are other types, if necessary. [He spreads a hand in a vague gesture.] It's items from a scrapyard, so there are all sorts of things down there. [When he had visited with Kitty, they had eyes only for the metals. Sectioning off the best, most usable pieces and putting them somewhere for safekeeping.]

[beathach]

Knowing what kind of metal it is helps narrow down what chemicals can be used, too. [he makes to reach for something - and scowls when he remembers this isn't his lab at the mansion, where he always had a notebook within reach. He huffs out a low growl and mutters:] Dammit.

But - it should only take me a couple of hours, once I get a chance to test the toxins.

[grandstanding]

[Erik crosses his arms, nodding.] I'm not in a rush, so that's fine. Anything I can manage to do back on my ship with the lab support there will work for me.

[beathach]

That's what I'll be aiming for. [or maybe something easier than that, but - Hank would have to see, once he knows what he's dealing with] And I know it isn't a rush, but the sooner I get it down, the sooner you can do - whatever is you're doing with it. It isn't as though I have any priority projects at the moment.

[grandstanding]

[He raises an eyebrow.] Well, that's good news. [He had been assuming Hank would throw himself into making serum immediately.]

[beathach]

[he gives a faint huff at Erik's expression and looks away]

I'm trying. [he was still going to make it, he had legitimate reasons aside from his issues with it all, but . . . ]

[grandstanding]

['Trying what' is the obvious response he could go to, needle him a bit more about the serum and the total waste of time that it was. However, they've danced this dance before, and Erik's not in the mood to annoy Hank a mere few days after he arrived.]

Just send me a message when you're ready and I'll meet you down there.

[beathach]

[he admires your restraint, Erik. So much so that when the expected response doesn't come, Hank looks over and raises both eyebrows in surprise]

Like I said, I don't have anything that needs my immediate attention. So whenever you want to go down, I'll go.

[grandstanding]

Then let's do it tomorrow. [He straightens, crossing his arms.] I don't know how long we'll be on this moon, but it seems better to get started sooner rather than later.

That's fine. [he's really of the same opinion] It'll give me the opportunity to pick up some things I don't have available to me up here.
