New arrival Broadcast/action

Who: Aeryn Sun and you! Open!
Broadcast: fleetwide
Action: if your on the Marsiva
When: Wednesday night

[That wonderful open broadcast Marsiva offers will catch the newest shipmate as she wakes. And it is every bit as dramatic as could be hoped. She sat bolt up and rolled immediately out of the bunk she'd been resting in, coming to a crouch. with her back to the nearest wall.]

Zhaan? D'Ago? Crichton?

[She was dressed in a gray suit that looked quilted or insulated, white piping having a near glow to it. But the way she fussed at the high collar indicated she was not familiar with the garment.]

Where am I? What is this place? Chiana of you or Rygel have sold us out... [The near threat fell from her lips without conviction.]

I fear I know as little as you - I arrived myself in similar circumstances not more than a week ago. All I can tell you is that you wake on the Marsiva, which is a ship sailing between the stars, surrounded by smaller ships - in a few days, you will likely be sent to one of them, and there you will remain.

You have the advantage of me there, for such things are far outside my experience.

[ He tips his head in a bow ]

Of course - forgive my rudeness. Maglor, at your service, lady.

We had nothing of this sort where I came from. [ Maglor shrugs wryly back at her ] I fear this is all very strange to me!

[ He smiles at the laugh ]

Lady Aeryn, then, for my mother taught me that every woman is a lady, and ought to be treated so.

They are, and they have.

[ he agrees with a quiet smile ]

It has certainly made adjusting much easier. And I have known many a female warrior and they are no less of a lady for all their skill with a blade.

I have seen that, amongst some of the tribes of Men, but never understood it. Why would use of a blade make any difference?

Well, so long as it does not bother you! But I confess it is an attitude strange to me. [ He murmurs thoughtfully ] One of the most skilled swordswomen I knew was my cousin Galadriel, and no one meeting her would ever call her anything less than a Lady!

That is a pity, I think - there is no reason why both things cannot go hand in hand, after all! And I would have thought that a hero normally requires one to be more... proactive.

Heroism comes in many forms, I find - both in the obeying of orders as well as in the disobeying of them, at times. Heroes are only so in hindsight, often.

Moya? Is that the name of your world or country?

Ah, like these ships then? I see why you said the situation seemed very familiar. What of your own world?
