[She appreciates someone who can hang with her nonsense. She leans back against the door frame with a slight smile.] Sounds like you were used to more action than you'll find here. At least I haven't found much in the last two and a half months.

I won't exactly complain about less fighting but my purpose in the Origin system was rectifying problems. At least violent ones. Can't really do that if there are none to be found here.

Yeah, these places tend to come with growing pains. I'm used to fighting a war myself or training others to fight it. But I'm over a year into my forced vacation with just the last bit being here.

Before coming here, I ended a war that should've been done so centuries ago. Still the system was a mess and more work could be done. [There was always some mess to clean up thanks to Corpus or Grineer.] You were a teacher though?

I have been. More physical training than academics, but there was a mix. [At home and at the prison actually.]

You ended a war? [That seems like the headline here to her.]

Certainly means you're a skilled fighter. Academia is good but sometimes knowing how to stop a foe physically helps a lot more than what's in a textbook.

[How was to explain this? Especially after everything that came to light?] I did. Myself and the other tenno were in a fight long ago with the Sentients. We thought it was over but an idiot Grineer found one's tomb. It woke up and got the Stalker's help. Thankfully the was the last malicious sentient left to deal with.

Huh... [I'm guessing Sentients don't mean people who are sentient since that seems like it would be you too. And Tenno isn't just your name? No idea on Grineer or the Stalker either. [one who stalks?]

Sentients are organisms created by the Orokin. They're capable of adapting to anything that damages them and they started a war with the Orokin empire. We, the Tenno, brought them down from the cusp of victory. Now both them and the Orokin are dead. [Both at the hands of the Tenno. However that's left out.]

Grineer are from an empire of clones ruled by a pair of queens. Murderous lot of fools.

[He looks back down at the disassembled gun.] I may have had another but I can't remember it. Besides it's who I am. So it works for one.

[She nods, appreciating that he went through all that for her.]

Sounds like it was intense. Is this happening on a version of Earth or somewhere else? [It's always a lot to take in when someone's world doesn't just sound like a divergent version of hers. But whether it's on Earth or not it sound far removed from anything she's known except war of course.]

Earth and the rest of the Origin System. From Mercury all the way to Pluto and even the void. [That's not comforting that there were other versions of the system and ones caught in different wars. There was always something to fight over it seems.]

It's gotten better with the absence of the Old War but still too much chaos.

I'm more used to chaos than stillness. [Like in the fleet. Not that she objects to it.]

So...are there any humans? Or do you consider yourself human? [Not sure how "tenno" works.]

The feeling is mutual. It's rather off putting to expect fighting but see none happening.

[He nods.] There are plenty of colonists still alive. I suppose the Corpus would count due to their status as Orokin descendants. [The other question makes him pause for bit.] Yes even if we're changed.

I've been here almost three months and so far I haven't seen any fighting unless you count paint ball. [Which is an extremely long time to go as far as she's concerned.]

I'm kind of a changed human myself.

Never knew that paint could be violent.

[That garners more attention from him. Changed like him? Hunh.] ...I don't feel as though it's my place to ask how so. I'll talk your word on it.

Paint has always had it in for us. [There's a little smile before she decides to answer the unasked question.]

Oh, it's fine. I don't hide who I am. [Who has time for that?] I'm a mutant. We're born with some extra curricular abilities.

[He never has had a quarrel with paint before so that's something to try and imagine. Still not as important as the other bit.]

I didn't want to make any assumptions. [Bad first impressions never made things easier in the long run.] I wasn't born like this. There was an accident with a ship I was on. The rest of the Tenno were on there as well. We were trapped in the void and that's what changed us.

I guess it's my turn to not ask how it changed you because that would be rude?

It's ok. The void gave me and the others powers we couldn't control until we were taught how to. That and the use of frames helped with it all.

...I want to say I'm human but the Orokin thought differently. [Good riddance to them.]

Did you all get the same powers? [Just the kind of thing a mutant would ask.]

If you say you're human that's good enough for me. I usually avoid it for myself, but...my parents were both human so it's not like it doesn't fit. I just don't like when people say it as a way of erasing the rest. Like they're being nice. [Oh, you're not a mutant! You're human.]

Same foundation but each of us learned how to use it in different ways. Naramon, Vazarin, Zenurik, Madurai, and Unairu. I was trained in the third.

Erasing someone's identity is rather foul. The Orokin tried to do that by calling us demons and monsters. I'll be sure to not do that.

I don't recognize a single one of those terms, but at least that keeps us par for course. [She smiles at him before it dimming at those terms.] Yeah, we usually got Muties, Freaks, sometimes Mutie freaks. But monsters and demons too. Especially mutants who can't pass for human like me. One of your other new crewmates for instance. My teammate, Kurt.

They were the names of our principles and the schools that we went to master our skills at. It's fine with not knowing them. [He already figured that so far majority of the fleet was not from his system.]

I can understand that. It's unfair for people to try and demean someone over a difference. But Kurt? I haven't met him yet.

I agree, and he'll be the blue one when you do see him. [Knowing Kurt he'll see everyone else before he lets them notice him. Getting to know his surroundings.]

I'll make sure to at the very least say hello to him. [That is the least he do anyway.]
