[He didn't have an android body before? Something stationary like a terminal? Her "best ship in the fleet" line distracts her from her line of thinking with a smile.]

Oh, and I guess I'll be the one to know the other newbie. It's Kurt. He's a teammate from back home. [And she wanted him closer.] We were missing a communications person.

It's not bad. I like being around all the guns. But it's just mostly that way I don't have to go up and down the ladder. [Once her back is fixed, she's definitely using her room again.]

Oh, cool! He must be really awesome. Is he nice? Is he cute? Can't wait to meet him!

Right... I didn't think about the ladder. I could phase you down to the bunks, but getting up still takes movement, so I guess that doesn't help.

[So much excitement, Wrath.] Umm...he is awesome. I mean, he's a good friend. He has been for a long time. He can be extremely nice. Or not. Kind of just depends. [He'll probably flirt with Wrath though so that will be nice Kurt.] And I will leave the cute up to you. I think he's handsome and distinctive.

It's okay, hopefully this is just temporary. Just have to be patient. And it means I can get to the armory real quick if we need it.

He's only been on board once before. We mostly just stayed in my room. [She hasn't seen him nearly as much as she wants to. He's been keeping a low profile especially after Mystique's arrival.]

Home is a...tough place. It takes adjusting to places that aren't like that. I had the prison for that. He's fresh out of it.

Yeah, I get that. I think Ordis and Tenno are doing some adjusting too. But a lot of people aren't used to being in a close crew environment so I think it's weird for almost everyone at least a little.

Which isn't me saying it's not a big thing Kurt's got to deal with. I just wonder if there's a protocol I could work out to make it easier for people to integrate into the unit. [Wrath, your officer pants are showing.]

I wouldn't call him shy. [Paranoid maybe. But it wasn't paranoia when everyone really was out to get them!] He's just getting a feel for things.

Close quarters and teamwork won't be the problems for him. That was the X-Men way of life. [She smiles a little. It wasn't always pleasant, but she still has fond memories of her X-family.] I'm not saying he has problems though. [You kind of were.]

Cautious, I guess. There's nothing wrong with that. I think Ordis is kinda like that too.

Everyone has problems. [Shrug. It's normal.] Just means you've lived your life.

Yeah, I know that feeling. [Wrath has capital-P problems, but she normally paves them over with sunny optimism. If nothing else, there are none of the sensory cues here to set her off. Thankfully.]

[She nods, completely understanding that.] It was easier back home. I mean it was also much, much harder there, but there was a mission. It's harder to keep yourself going without that. Even in the prison my mission was getting everyone out. [She doesn't feel like she even has that now. She could, but there was just something so unfulfilling and futile about it last time.]

Yeah. I know that feeling. I've been... trying to find a mission since I got turfed out of the army. Even when my back is fixed, I'm not sure. I guess being the best first officer I can be is my mission now.

It sounds like a place to start. [She can't find a lot of meaning in being the best pilot here. Oh, she'll do her best for her crew and if an emergency actually popped up watch out! But even without her it just keeps flying where the Atroma want it and now she's a little redundant anyway with an extra pilot on board.] Seems like you're doing a good job so far. [If anything Vision and Wrath both seem great at morale.]

Aw, thanks! [That really does mean a lot. Being the first officer here is pretty different from running a platoon in the army or the militia.]

We'll figure something out, I think. Fucked up situations have a way of springing up.
