Considering the array of physics-breaking superpowers that exist in some of these worlds, it's inherently unfair if there isn't at least one biology-defying pizza plant out there. With extra cheese.

Ah--well, I'm quite aware there are some inherently illogical aspects to the universe at large, much less the multiverse. I'm equally aware there are cultures with the capacity to engineer such marvels.

However, I'm also afraid the ones I'm familiar with have no idea what a pizza is. Perhaps they need to be educated.

That sounds like a job for me. I'm fresh out of having any kind of direction in life. [She says it lightly, but well, it's kind of a problem for her. She just isn't actually worried about it at the moment because she had a very good night.] Might as well give pizza seminars.

That is a vital public service. The more people know about it, the likelier one of them is to figure out how to make it.

[ nodding super seriously. pizza is a great direction in life. ]

I'm certain it would be better than anything I could do. I can't even say with any reliability that I taste food in the same way you do.

[Looking at Vision.] Hmm, that's a good and interesting [possibly sad?] point. The coffee you made is good though. [Not that it is terribly complicated or that she has high standards.]

[Winn gets an eyebrow raise.] You're not going to break up with me over it are you?

[ he nods in agreement as kitty speaks; the coffee may not be what he's used to - but it sure is what he needed, and the taste's as good as it seems to get around here.

and then turns his back to her ]

Sorry, I don't understand that sentence when it's not coming out of my mouth.

Thank you. [That's exactly the point, though: he didn't get the coffee because he needed it. He picked it up because he thought it might be appreciated.]

That'd just spark an existential debate on whether or not I'm here.

So, you're an Avenger? Ever work with Kate? [ she told them there are hundreds of them, and he knows there are alternate dimensions, but it feels like a pretty basic and natural place to start at, and a much safer one than powers and most other questions that pop into his head. ]

I do love a philosophical conundrum.

I am an Avenger, yes, though Kate is from a different timeline than my own. Her Avengers have been around for decades, while mine were formed a mere three years ago from when I left; she's from 2016 and I'm from 2015.

Oh. [She never got filled back in on that.] I didn't realize that. [Kate seemed glad to hear Vision was here early on. Kitty hopes the difference wasn't a problem for her. But not being recognized by someone you care about isn't exactly an easy thing.]

So yours is probably not a revolving door of hundreds of heroes yet, right? How many of you are there?

No, far from it. Though there are certain members with standing invitations and other responsibilities, there are fewer than a dozen of us in total.

[And that's being generous and assuming they find Dr. Banner again some day - and that he'd consent to join them.]

No, not yet. Her mentor, Clint Barton, is; he's a good man.

Yeah, I met him finally. Except I met Kate's version, not yours I guess. Tricky how all of that works. The X-Men and Avengers here could really use some kind of spider diagram for clarity.

[ that sounds like a project for a fanboy -- it practically has his name written all over it. but it also means poking at a lot of sore spots and that isn't quite as much his scene. he'll just make that diagram in his head. ]

Is he uh, as difficult in your world? [ talking to the guy kind of gave him a headache. ] Who else is a member in your timeline?

Especially for those who overlap between more than two groups. Are you aware of any besides Wanda?

[He doesn't mind at all, but then, he's hardly typical by any standards.]

Difficult? [His lips quirk up in amusement.] It's a fair equivalency, yes. Our leader is Steve Rogers, Captain America. Then Black Widow, Iron Man, War Machine, the Falcon, Thor, the Hulk, Wanda, myself.

Just Logan. He mentioned having affiliations with both teams. He's not here anymore. [And she does her best not to sound as sad about that as she feels.]

No codename for Wanda? Not the Scarlet Witch?

[ he squeezes kitty's shoulder, trying to offer what comfort he can. he has a million more questions, but right now - it seems more important she gets hers answered. she actually knows these people. ]

Scarlet Witch? [~~Not from his canonpoint~~.] No, though I can see why that might be appropriate.

[Winn gets a soft smile with that touch. She appreciates his support though she doesn't mean for him to fall into the background so much.]

Mm, that was her name in my world. I'm actually surprised more names are different though. What are the odds you'll always think up the same thing?

It's true - another 5 minutes of thought could've given anyone a completely different idea in their own world - so a version of themselves that led a different life is statistically guaranteed to come up with an alternative.

[ he may be thinking up different names other versions of kara may be using now. ]
