We have a masquerade coming up, and I was bored so I thought I'd mettle in people's lives for my own amusement. First, the disclaimer, there is nothing wrong with going to a dance solo.

Now, for anyone else, who wants a date?

Sorry, not me. Taken. But there are probably some of you out there thinking a date would be fun, and sure, why not? So speak up. Let's make some love connections. Or, you know, awkward dancing connections. I'm a mutant, not a miracle worker.

Yeah? Doesn't that make it harder to know if you're compatible? I mean, not that it's the most important thing. It's not, but it's not a terrible indicator.

[It worries her, but she knows there's a lot she doesn't know about the circumstances.]

I'm probably not a very good judge of that. I was a wife for love, not duty and even that ended very badly.

Listen, I don't know how used to this you are, but these places can pull people out right before their deaths, so technically the one who died was me. Except that I'm alive here obviously. But since he was the one who killed me, I went ahead and decided the marriage was over. I'm forgiving, but not that forgiving.

[It's a weird and messy thing to bring up, but she doesn't like hiding things or being dishonest. Too much work to keep it all straight really.]

[She nods.] Actually, that's probably a good summary of it. I didn't want to see it. Still too much in love back then I guess. [Or too much inertia in the direction of love. Things had been strained and different for awhile.]

He was a good and gentle man when I married him. The world we come from does everything it can to destroy that in a person. But I don't want to make excuses for what he did. There's no excusing that. [If it had just been her own life maybe she would, but their students suffered too even if it wasn't as directly.]

It's...everything.

And if anyone has ever been in the position to say it's not worth the risk it's probably me, but I still think it's worth it. [So maybe she shouldn't be fighting things with Winn so much and just try being happy...] Just important to keep your head above water when you do.

Mayhaps one day I shall love my husband the way you describe.

[ absolutely not because he is a raging psychopath but she does not wish to speak ill of joffrey as he may yet find his way here nor does she wish to admit to this little misfortune she will have to deal with if she wishes to be queen ]
