We have a masquerade coming up, and I was bored so I thought I'd mettle in people's lives for my own amusement. First, the disclaimer, there is nothing wrong with going to a dance solo.

Now, for anyone else, who wants a date?

Sorry, not me. Taken. But there are probably some of you out there thinking a date would be fun, and sure, why not? So speak up. Let's make some love connections. Or, you know, awkward dancing connections. I'm a mutant, not a miracle worker.

I've never been to anything like this. Is having a date common?

I'm going to say yes, but most of what I know about dances and parties comes from movies I watched as a pre-teen or things that happened in multidimensional prison, so you may want to take it with a very big grain of salt.

I'm probably going stag [ and kitty said that's cool and all, but: ] -- hey, but my dance card's always open.

You want me to find you some dance-mates or did you just want me to keep one open for you? [Which she would.] And what is this probably? Did you have someone in mind?

I guess I just haven't felt the right jolt of chemistry; I've been busy. And the last thing I wanna do is jump the gun on some guy and then spend the night wishing I could ditch him.

[ she's perfectly happy going alone. ] The dancing is what's really important.

[Pretending to take notes.] Need a chemist with a ray gun. Got it. [Don't worry, you're safe from ray gun-wielding chemists. The last thing Kitty is going to do is take this very seriously.]

Dancing is important. Here's hoping Winn can dance.

[ a little cheeky and a lot curious: ] Oh-ho. Is that who's taking you?

[Oh god, don't blush, Kitty. You will lose all the nonchalant cred of this post.] That's the guy. He mentioned he knew you.

I could use a date. The person I was planning on asking has, ah, left the Fleet.

Oh, Leto, I'm sorry. [The person who he loved who remembered him? Even if it wasn't that person she knows it's hard to lose people you've come to like in these places.]

We met. He seems like a decent guy. [ aka get it, girl. ] I made him try his arm with a bow and a few arrows.

He is. [She would even be tempted to say something more flattering than "decent." She looks amused by the bow and arrow comment though.]

Oh yeah? How did he do?

[ He shrugs. There's little he can say. ]

So I'm open to suggestions.

[Right, on with it then. She nods.] Okay, so, what are you looking for in a masquerade date?

_{[ If was a wine person, he would be sipping it right now and looking at Kitty over the rim. But he's not so have an arched brow. ]}

Taken? When did that happen?

[ What does one normally look for? He's never had to think about his preferences. Mostly since they're so . . . wide. ]

Anyone who is willing to put up with me?

[No spit take? But what is this look, Kirk?]

When I suggested we go together I guess. [Did she suggest it or did he? Sounds like something she'd do.] He did make my dress after all.

Wait a second! Taken? You've gotta spill, Kitty!

Okay so a girl [there is a question mark shaped pause here] with some great tolerance? [She doesn't actually find Leto hard to put up with.]

[That gets a little laugh and if she's not careful there could be a blush. Good thing she is very careful, right?] Kurt, having a date to a dance isn't that big of a deal. [Though he has been becoming more than just a date to the dance and was before the dance was ever a thing.]

It can be a man. I have no gender or sexual preferences.

[ He hesitates. ] In terms of my powers. I wouldn't want to subject someone who might be uncomfortable with them.

[She was kind of guessing that after his previous post about love. Just in light of his openness.]

Just so you know, no one else has actually put their hat in the ring, yet, but the day's still early.

And either way you know you have a dance with me waiting for you, right?
