We have a masquerade coming up, and I was bored so I thought I'd mettle in people's lives for my own amusement. First, the disclaimer, there is nothing wrong with going to a dance solo.

Now, for anyone else, who wants a date?

Sorry, not me. Taken. But there are probably some of you out there thinking a date would be fun, and sure, why not? So speak up. Let's make some love connections. Or, you know, awkward dancing connections. I'm a mutant, not a miracle worker.

[That gets a little laugh and if she's not careful there could be a blush. Good thing she is very careful, right?] Kurt, having a date to a dance isn't that big of a deal. [Though he has been becoming more than just a date to the dance and was before the dance was ever a thing.]

[He crosses his arms confidently. Like a hunter prowling for prime teasing material.]

Or is it the biggest deal ever? I'm onto you, Kitty! [He points two fingers directly towards her eyes on the screen.] Come on, who's the lucky loser?

Why would I be with a loser? ...I mean other than historical consistency. [Sorry, Piotr, murdering your wife makes you a loser. Tyki obviously was.]

Well, that sounds like a good enough reason! People who are cool but are also dorks... I'm pretty sure that's your type, Kitty!

Is that how you'd describe Lance? [Since other Kitty had mentioned him and all.]

Maybe! But then I'd be missing the word 'jerk'! That one's also very important! [He sees you're still avoiding an answer to his question... but he won't let that slide for long.]

[She laughs softly. Yeah, there's some of her type in there. Not that Winn is a jerk. Or if he is he hides it well.] I never met him. [Or at least never related him back to her world's counterpart.]

[Maybe one day, the connection to that counterpart will hit like an avalanche!]

I don't think you're missing out on much. [He says with a joking smirk.]

But at least I can meet your mystery date.

I'm... happy to be of service?

Winn. [It's a name. Really.] Winn Schott. [The puns write themselves.]

[You have to give Kurt a moment. With the glow on his face, it looks like he's just witnessed a divine revelation and been handed a shop full of free candy.

He's never felt happier.

Then, he takes another moment to make his first selection.]

I guess I was wrong. Sounds like a real Winner to me!

Should I sit back and let you go at it for awhile? I feel like there are going to be a lot of these.

I might take you up on that offer. I should at least take a Schott at it.

Are you still wondering why I didn't tell you who it was sooner? Because I will refer you back to this. [Pointing at you, Kurt. Just you.]

I don't know what you're talking about! You should have treasured this chance! To... to give me a new winn-dow of opportunity!

You might be even more relentless than my Kurt. [Which they haven't really talked about, have they?]

Your Kurt? [He tentatively inquires. That reminds him of something he's been unsure about... The other Kurt did answer to Darkholme, after all, and that was the name Kitty used for him. Could it be...?]

He's from my world. You didn't know? You met, right? [And are maybe more aware of how different she finds him from what she's always known.]

We met alright! But... I'm just making the connection right now.

So... so that's him!

So, how are you? I know meeting yourself can be...a thing. [She had a lot of feelings about meeting her own double.]

It's... it's a thing alright. ...Like looking into a really weird mirror.

But, it's kind of cool, too? I don't know how to describe it. But... I don't feel down about it or anything.

[Or at least, not about that newcomer.]

Good. I mean, that's probably about as good as it gets with something like that. [Probably better than her reaction to his Kitty.] Kurt's a good guy. We've always been close. I mean...I was kind of a mess when I first joined up so I wasn't exactly instantly cool with him, but it passed. [Not proud of that, but they all scared her except Piotr who rescued her at first.]

Well... That's good. [He smiles lightly and scratches at his head a little.] I'm glad you get along with your fuzzy man. ...And that he's a good guy. I guess some things are right in more than one universe.

We definitely have to keep a few things going the right way. [It's too few really, but they did what they could.

After a moment she switches the feed to private.]

What about things that aren't going right? Are you...okay? Kurt isn't the only new arrival we've had. [And she's not that worried about Charles or Hank for the moment.]
