[The night has finally come--the Gravity Rush is nearly upon us! What normally serves as a large performance hall has been gutted, emptied of its boring furniture and rigged up into a fantastical mismatch of technology and old culture. No matter where you go tonight, you're encouraged to move around, dance, play games, whatever helps you sleep in late tomorrow morning.

If you aren't one for scurrying around a ballroom all night, there's always plenty of people-watching to do. After all, so many people are wearing extravagant costumes and elaborate masks. How can you even tell who is who? Get lost in a crowd of sequins, chatter with a sun and a moon, or try to beat the guy in the monster-mask at a game of cards. Meet your friends or make some new ones--this masquerade party has begun!]

Well, I'm impressed. I didn't know you had it in you.

It's always good to cultivate as many useful talents as you can, Anakin.

[ a half sarcastic huff ]

Now I have to wonder what other useful talents you're hiding from us.

[beardstrokes]

Probably not as many as you're imagining.

[ Now he gives Anakin a proper look over, his expression replaced with concern. ]

Is everything all right?

[sandhate]

Oh, I could imagine a lot. [ obi-wan has omitted satine for so long, it wouldn't surprise him that there's other things that are being omitted. things they don't really talk about.

at the question, he crossed his arms. ]

Haven't been sleeping well. [ which he dismiss with a casual shrug. it's not the first time he hasn't sleep well afterall. ] I think I would have liked to talk to Greed more, before he left for... home.

[beardstrokes]

[ He frowns lightly. Greed was never really happy at the Fleet. Sure, he relished being Captain but Obi-Wan knew there was more he wished to do. ]

Greed's soul has always been a confusing place. We were lucky to get out.

You should have said something. Have you been meditating at all or is that a moot point?

[sandhate]

[ curtly. ] It doesn't help, so the second one.

Do you... Are you sleeping well?

[beardstrokes]

[ As tempting as lecturing Anakin about neglecting his training sounds, Obi-Wan lets it go. ]

It was touch and go for a while, but I managed to recover.

[ He sits down next to him. ] I take it something of Greed's soul has . . . infected you.

[ he can still hear it

he sighs. what the point of being the chosen one if all he gets are nightmares that he can't figure out, that makes him too tired and crazy to do anything. ]

I think so.

[beardstrokes]

[ Obi-Wan is no Healer and he had never wanted to be, but he always felt lacking when problems like these crop up. ]

Why don't we meet up on the Iskaulit some time to work on a solution? Just between us.

[ Obi-Wan will give Anakin some privacy as they figure it out. ]

If you're going to make me meditate, I can do that myself.

[ yes, he can. but he won't. ]

Nevermind. If you've recovered from it, then it's fine. It might just take me a bit longer. [ despite the fact that he's usually the first one to recover. he offers obi-wan a half hearted grin that doesn't quite reach his eyes. ] I was always a slow learner.

[beardstrokes]

Actually, I thought we might talk about the experience. It might prove cathartic.

[ Regular Jedi methods won't work for Anakin. Obi-Wan is aware of this now, more than ever. ]

And slow is certainly not the word I'd use.

[sandhate]

Huh.

[ a note of surprise. it's an interesting change, that's for sure. ]

You're just full of surprises today. Is it because of the outfit Padme picked out for you?

[beardstrokes]

I'll have you know that I'm perfectly capable of dressing myself. I simply needed the help of a season fashionista like your wife.

[sandhate]

Hey, I'm just saying-- [ he smooths out the imagined wrinkles on obi-wan's shoulders ] Maybe a change of outfit brought out another side of you.

[ it's not true, he knows it's not but it's fun to tease. almost normal. ]

[beardstrokes]

The same could be said about you. Really, Anakin, must everything you wear have to be in black or dark shades?

[sandhate]

[ anakin gives obi-wan a look ]

That's only because I got sick of beige after five years of it.

[ mimicking obi-wan now. ] And really, Obi-Wan. Beige again?

[beardstrokes]

[ He shrugs comfortably. Their banter always sets him at ease. ]

It goes well with my hair.

[sandhate]

[ He narrows his eyes at the imagined greys at Obi-Wan's temples. ]

You might want to rethink that.

[beardstrokes]

[ He nudges him lightly. ]

I haven't gone grey yet. And I imagine when I do, it'll be entirely your fault.

[ cue Star Wars: A New Hope. ]
