Masquerade Mingle

[The night has finally come--the Gravity Rush is nearly upon us! What normally serves as a large performance hall has been gutted, emptied of its boring furniture and rigged up into a fantastical mismatch of technology and old culture. No matter where you go tonight, you're encouraged to move around, dance, play games, whatever helps you sleep in late tomorrow morning.

If you aren't one for scurrying around a ballroom all night, there's always plenty of people-watching to do. After all, so many people are wearing extravagant costumes and elaborate masks. How can you even tell who is who? Get lost in a crowd of sequins, chatter with a sun and a moon, or try to beat the guy in the monster-mask at a game of cards. Meet your friends or make some new ones--this masquerade party has begun!]

[[ooc: All sections are up now, have fun! A related ooc post is HERE for any questions or plotting you'd like to do.]]

I had two friends who both transferred off of there immediately. I don't think it had anything to do with the ship or crew though. One of them was named Bishop so you might want to keep the mundane part quiet with her.

Well, I mean, mundane compared to 'Pathstone' and 'Bloodsport' and 'Star struck' and 'Wonderduck'... Actually, that one is sort of weird.

Really weird.

[ He moves gracefully through the dance steps, bare feet never treading on hers. ]

One of my kind of, sort of teammates is on the Wonderduck. I laugh a little in my mind anytime I think about it. I'm on the Windrose. It sounds like it would be the ship mentioned in a cheesy romance novel.

It's a wonderfully silly name, but you see what I mean about 'Bishop' being a surprisingly normal name for a ship in comparison.

You could start calling it The Bishop. My captain's name starts with The and it's one of my favorite new things.

My ex is technically The Midnighter. Not that he chose that for himself.

Who is your captain? I have no idea who's meant to be in charge my way.

[Oops! Didn't mean to evoke the ex.]

Vision. Well, The Vision. He's on a super team back home too. Avengers. Really? No idea? Didn't care to find out?

[ He doesn't seem upset about it. ]

Didn't think to. I haven't been on the ship that much.

Where have you been or is this all part of your air of mystery that you're carefully cultivating?

I've been down here, on the moon. Mostly.

[ He laughs. ]

Air of mystery? I am the least mysterious person you will meet, I am an open book.

It just so happens I really like books so that works for me. [She likes open, honest people too. Okay, she likes other kinds of people as well, but this usually works out better.] Do you like the moon? [She is not really a fan with all the pollution though she drops by every few days for a look around if only for something different.]

I don't think the people that live here like it much, to be honest.

[That would be 'no, I don't like it much'.]

It beats being trapped in those tiny ships?
