[The night has finally come--the Gravity Rush is nearly upon us! What normally serves as a large performance hall has been gutted, emptied of its boring furniture and rigged up into a fantastical mismatch of technology and old culture. No matter where you go tonight, you're encouraged to move around, dance, play games, whatever helps you sleep in late tomorrow morning.

If you aren't one for scurrying around a ballroom all night, there's always plenty of people-watching to do. After all, so many people are wearing extravagant costumes and elaborate masks. How can you even tell who is who? Get lost in a crowd of sequins, chatter with a sun and a moon, or try to beat the guy in the monster-mask at a game of cards. Meet your friends or make some new ones--this masquerade party has begun!]

Daneel, huh... You seem pretty smitten.

[Not really, but if they came together, it's worth tossing out a little test. Not outright teasing or anything- She's still not sure how close their relationship is for that yet. But a little good-natured poke to test her reaction to it might help her get a more solid feeling for where they stand.]

Smitten, hmm?

[Her nose crinkles with amusement.]

I suppose you could say that.

[Nightingale and her aren't close enough yet for any...in depth conversations about her relationship with Daneel, but she's perfectly willing to admit to her feelings for him.]

[Oh, she was right after all. It's kind of cute, honestly. Not that she'll admit this.]

Should I leave you two to have fun, then?

No, you're all right! We came to socialize with other people too, after all.

That's true. You can always sneak off later. It probably wouldn't even be hard, here.

[You know, she would protest the implication that they need to sneak around like a couple of teenagers, except there was that incident in the gardens so really, she has very little leg to stand on.]

No, I suspect no one would notice our leaving, but in the meantime, I'm quite enjoying the party!

[which, honestly, is surprising. She expected this to be awkward at best, but...]

Have you seen the game room yet? There's a bunch of fun things in there.

I have not! What sort of games do they have?

Board games, card games, things like that. Apparently, they're supposed to be similar to Earth games? Especially one called 'chess'.

If you're interested in showing off in front of your date, too, none of the people I played back there were terribly good at them.

[dancingmd]

[Beverly laughs again.] Oh I'm fairly certain Daneel would be able to beat me handily at chess.

Only if you play fair.

... are you suggesting I cheat at a game with my date?

[experiencepoints]

Of course not. That would be terrible.

Just, there's a lot of ways to play unfair that are perfectly within the rules.

[She laughs.] Oh, I'm sure there are, but I'm quite happy to have him be the more logical one.

[experiencepoints]

I guess I can understand that.

[Nightingale, for all her role as strategist and planner, is definitely not the logical one with the people she likes- They have to do things like hold her back from doing incredibly stupid things like trying to murder the final boss in a berserk rage.

She's like 90% sure that is not even close to what Beverly means, but she still understands the feeling. Sort of.]

Well, it still might be worth checking out if you get bored of the dance floor.

I will, thank you! I do like card games.

Card games... I've got a bad history with those, but the board games are fun. And there's darts, but I get the feeling asking the mage to play darts wouldn't end well.
