[The night has finally come--the Gravity Rush is nearly upon us! What normally serves as a large performance hall has been gutted, emptied of its boring furniture and rigged up into a fantastical mismatch of technology and old culture. No matter where you go tonight, you're encouraged to move around, dance, play games, whatever helps you sleep in late tomorrow morning.

If you aren't one for scurrying around a ballroom all night, there's always plenty of people-watching to do. After all, so many people are wearing extravagant costumes and elaborate masks. How can you even tell who is who? Get lost in a crowd of sequins, chatter with a sun and a moon, or try to beat the guy in the monster-mask at a game of cards. Meet your friends or make some new ones--this masquerade party has begun!]

They have games for like almost anything back home! So I guess it's the same here. Awesome!

Where I come from doesn't have anything like that... You're so lucky.

I've been doing a lot of that since I got here, ehe... But at least I can read now!

I'm not great at reading, myself.

Really?? When they made me a counsellor all of a sudden I could do it!

I know how to read, I just look at words and they don't make sense sometimes, or I get headaches, or whatever. It's probably because of all the times I got my head smashed into something. So I just watch vids instead.

But that sounds really useful! Reading is cool.

Yeah, lots of times. I was in the army for a couple decades, and my platoon did a lot of shock assault.

Whoa...I didn't know the army had gorgeous people in it! [ He would have figured her for a model or something. ]

The army has all kinds of people in it though. Like every kind of person you can think of!

Even alien people? [ Because that seems pretty specific to the Fleet. ]

[pain_train]

I think there are in some of the systems. There aren't any aliens that live on my planet so we never had any in the army, which is a shame.

Systems...? Like for stars?

[pain_train]

Yeah, exactly.

You guys could travel to space?? That's sooooo cool....!

Oh yeah.

Like we're all stuck on the planet I'm on because there's all this debris in orbit we can't get through. But everyone else has to be flying around just fine still.
