Masquerade Mingle
[The night has finally come--the Gravity Rush is nearly upon us! What normally serves as a large performance hall has been gutted, emptied of its boring furniture and rigged up into a fantastical mismatch of technology and old culture. No matter where you go tonight, you're encouraged to move around, dance, play games, whatever helps you sleep in late tomorrow morning.
If you aren't one for scurrying around a ballroom all night, there's always plenty of people-watching to do. After all, so many people are wearing extravagant costumes and elaborate masks. How can you even tell who is who? Get lost in a crowd of sequins, chatter with a sun and a moon, or try to beat the guy in the monster-mask at a game of cards. Meet your friends or make some new ones--this masquerade party has begun!]
[[ooc: All sections are up now, have fun! A related ooc post is HERE for any questions or plotting you'd like to do.]]

Felix Harrowgate
It's clear that he's finally in his element. The beautiful hall, the music, the dancing, the absolute grandiose ostentatious of it all is absolutely everything he might have wanted and everything he has missed from his old life. The memory doesn't hold him down like it once might have, but rather buoys him, lifting him out of his worries and into the spirit of the evening. It's a sharper, brighter, even more outgoing version of himself, one that might have once been edged, but tonight it's almost entirely genuine.
He carries himself with confidence as he moves through the crowd. He doesn't stay at his lover's side at all times, especially when there's so many people here to meet. He will dance with anyone that asks (and he shows skill at least in the technical dances) and talk to everyone he meets, even if it's simply a bright smile followed by an equally bright--]

Eventually, he catches sight of Felix again, while he's on a return journey from spending time with someone or other. Crowley may be fairly good at socialising, but in a place like this? Felix takes to it like a fish to water. It's enjoyable enough watching him flit around, do his thing.
Still, as Felix returns he offers up a wine glass he's not long gathered from the bar. He has one of his own so it's not really sharing. Not...really.]
Not a bad turnout, given this party is on a moon that may well be the pitstain of the universe.

Certainly, but also means they are all acutely aware of their mutual misery, and what better way to deny misery that with a party? Besides, it seems a cultural affectation, going by the gas masks.

Hmmm, perhaps you're right. They do seem a little over zealous to show us how happy they are about the looming death-smog. Maybe they've been drinking the kool-aid.

I any case, I'm sure they're perfectly aware of what they've been dealt, my point is, it's a bit like putting make-up on a pig.

[It bummed him out when he heard about it. Humans. ]
You might just have a point, there. Polishing up a turd, and suchlike.
