Masquerade Mingle

[The night has finally come--the Gravity Rush is nearly upon us! What normally serves as a large performance hall has been gutted, emptied of its boring furniture and rigged up into a fantastical mismatch of technology and old culture. No matter where you go tonight, you're encouraged to move around, dance, play games, whatever helps you sleep in late tomorrow morning.

If you aren't one for scurrying around a ballroom all night, there's always plenty of people-watching to do. After all, so many people are wearing extravagant costumes and elaborate masks. How can you even tell who is who? Get lost in a crowd of sequins, chatter with a sun and a moon, or try to beat the guy in the monster-mask at a game of cards. Meet your friends or make some new ones--this masquerade party has begun!]

[[ooc: All sections are up now, have fun! A related ooc post is HERE for any questions or plotting you'd like to do.]]

It's doing well to live up to its advertisement, I would have to say.

[More of the costumes tend toward the fantastical than to the familiar, but that just makes it even more interesting to him.

He holds up his hand for Wanda to take.]

May I have the first dance?

[Wanda is so busy taking it all in that she misses Vision's hand at first. However, she definitely doesn't miss what he just said. She looks at him, utterly caught of guard. She looks down at his hand, then back up to him, recovering her composure as she does. Well, it was a dance after all. She just honestly hadn't quite expected him to ask, nor that she would actually have to admit the following...]

I... I don't know how.

[His smile grows. That's not a no.]

It needn't be anything overly complex. Many dances only require willingness and a partner who may lead.

[Wanda tentatively extends her hand out to accept Vision's own. She definitely looks unsure about this, but... to dance at a ball in such formal attire, it is hard to pass up such an experience. She looks up at him, trying to appear confident enough, but still noticeable a little anxious about possibly making a fool of herself out on the dance floor.]

I assume you know what you are doing then?

[He's researched it a lot?? No, he's never actually danced before, so his smile is a little sheepish.]

I've never had the opportunity to put it to the test.
notmutantbutmiracle: (Should I look back?)

[She looks at him, somewhat incredulously. Then sighs, somewhat exasperated, as she looks about the dancefloor, clearly still nervous.]

Did you really have to say that out loud...

[She looks back at him, clearly still nervous, despite attempting to look calm.]

How confident are you that you can pass such a test?

You'd be able to sense the truth regardless. [Lying to Wanda doesn't make any sense. Which means his next statement is the truth:]

Quite confident. Shall we try?
notmutantbutmiracle: (I can read him...)

[Wanda looks at him again, taking a moment to appraise the situation. Ultimately, however, she figures she might as well try. She tries to appear confident, trusting in Vision to not make fools of them both. She takes his hand, a small smile on her face.]

I suppose that is a good enough answer. Lead on.

[For all of that, he isn't a bad dancer. Not terribly creative in his forms, but he knows enough to move them in a crowd without bumping into anyone or causing an incident. His movements are smooth and timed impeccably, and before too long she should recognize the same pattern and moves the other dancers are using. He's studied.]
