[The night has finally come--the Gravity Rush is nearly upon us! What normally serves as a large performance hall has been gutted, emptied of its boring furniture and rigged up into a fantastical mismatch of technology and old culture. No matter where you go tonight, you're encouraged to move around, dance, play games, whatever helps you sleep in late tomorrow morning.

If you aren't one for scurrying around a ballroom all night, there's always plenty of people-watching to do. After all, so many people are wearing extravagant costumes and elaborate masks. How can you even tell who is who? Get lost in a crowd of sequins, chatter with a sun and a moon, or try to beat the guy in the monster-mask at a game of cards. Meet your friends or make some new ones--this masquerade party has begun!]

[Vash was expecting: too fancy, doesn't like dancing, or even not enough free food. But... smog?]

Really. You'd rather look at dirty air then be in here and see all the hot babes in their dresses. You have hit puberty haven't you, kid?

I wanna go out and see the smog because weird stuff is supposed to happen. It's for science.

[Vash had heard about the smog showing people things. He wasn't sure he really wanted to experience something that wasn't real at all. Having already gone through something like that before in a forest.

But, he was also curious himself. Maybe it would be a good idea to go with a partner.]

For science, huh? [He takes his air mask off the belt he's added to his costume.] Shall we check it out together then?

[This is probably a....dangerous choice but whatever. ]

If you really want to. There's no partying out there, just super serious research!

Yeah, sure. Whatever you say. [Maybe. Sokka may get off lucky in that Vash will at least treat it somewhat seriously as the people of the planet see it as something to be respected. Just no promises.]

Then after we'll come back here and you can loosen up and have a bit of fun!

You say that, but here you are thinking about dirty air instead of the party right in front of you.

It's not the dirty air, it's the science happening WITH it!

Hey, I just call them as I see them. [Although the cheeky grin on his face suggests he's just being an instigator.] But come on, let's go check out this dirty air so you can get if off your mind and back to partying! [And not just because Vash also is actually really interested in it himself if he's being honest.]

The sciencey dirty air. And okay, but don't say I didn't warn you it won't be a party out there.

That's okay, they'll be a party to come back to at least. [Science time goooooo! Vash will even be polite and hold the door open for Sokka once both or their air filters are in place.]

So what do you think will happen?

I don't know. That's the exciting part of it all. Maybe it's just something really regular, or maybe it's something that'll give us a whole new understanding of this place. Maybe even Atroma.

The sky's the limit when it comes to science.

Really? I guess I didn't think of it that way as it seemed too personal a thing for worldly answers. At least from what I've heard people talking about.

Oh no, science is the most important thing in any world you want to go to. It can explain so much and it can be super fun!

Alright then, science master, do you know what we need to do next? What I've heard is stand near water and wait.

I'm sure it could be if it tried hard enough. [Vash links his fingers together behind his neck as they walk. Elbows up in the air as he stares a moment back up at the night sky. He really hopes this isn't going to end up being a terrible decision. The locals at least didn't make anything sound dangerous.]

It's about facts and learning more about the world you're living in. That's WAY better than anything else.
