[The night has finally come--the Gravity Rush is nearly upon us! What normally serves as a large performance hall has been gutted, emptied of its boring furniture and rigged up into a fantastical mismatch of technology and old culture. No matter where you go tonight, you're encouraged to move around, dance, play games, whatever helps you sleep in late tomorrow morning.

If you aren't one for scurrying around a ballroom all night, there's always plenty of people-watching to do. After all, so many people are wearing extravagant costumes and elaborate masks. How can you even tell who is who? Get lost in a crowd of sequins, chatter with a sun and a moon, or try to beat the guy in the monster-mask at a game of cards. Meet your friends or make some new ones--this masquerade party has begun!]

Well, I'm glad you're adapting. Even without the dog. [A purposeful and teasing pause.] And the husband.

I'm doing good. Could be better though. I could be dancing with you, if you're interested in taking a spin.

[An innocent tease, but one that inadvertently hurts. She's not entirely without her husband; there's a version of him here. But his words are a reminder that it's not her Alistair. A reminder that still stings at times.

Her smile is a little more forced as she nods.]

I do miss them. And I would be happy to, if you're up for it. [She gestures to his ankle.] Or if your ankle is up for it, I should say.

[Well there's a shift in the ease of that smile, he can pick up on that much, but it's easy to mistake it for simply missing what she's got at home. And he's more than willing to try to make her feel a little better.]

It's worth any pain. [He answers easily, pushing himself up to his feet and offering her his hand.]

[She takes his offered hand and stands up, smoothing out her dress before letting him lead the way.]
