[The night has finally come--the Gravity Rush is nearly upon us! What normally serves as a large performance hall has been gutted, emptied of its boring furniture and rigged up into a fantastical mismatch of technology and old culture. No matter where you go tonight, you're encouraged to move around, dance, play games, whatever helps you sleep in late tomorrow morning.

If you aren't one for scurrying around a ballroom all night, there's always plenty of people-watching to do. After all, so many people are wearing extravagant costumes and elaborate masks. How can you even tell who is who? Get lost in a crowd of sequins, chatter with a sun and a moon, or try to beat the guy in the monster-mask at a game of cards. Meet your friends or make some new ones--this masquerade party has begun!]

[The response is automatic, a slight movement of the head that arcs his neck into that touch, something not so visible, but easily felt.]

Mmm, depending upon the most undependable being in the realms, who speaks much and says little.

I never took you for a gambler.

We are all gamblers. The real question is something else entirely. But I believe I chose correctly.

[ Leto's faith in Loki is unshakable, even when they argue or do not fully agree. ]

[He laughs. There is nothing else he can really do.]

[Today, it is for teasing and humor. He's in a good mood. Let tomorrow be for the reminder that he is the ultimate death if anyone foolish enough to trust him.

I'm hardly beautiful. The suit does all the work.

I wager it would better serve you decorating a floor. [Dangerous, Loki. Pressing up against that unnatural, self-imposed boundary.]

I can't deny the sight of good clothes on a marbled floor.

[ He curls a hand in Loki's hair, tight and sharp. ]

My other skin is harder to shed, I'm afraid.

[Oh, the promise of that. It's so utterly unfair. And he's done this to himself. He moves his fingers over Leto's side, purposefully gentle in counterpoint.]

Do you think I lust after only one part of you, or the whole?

I think you'll pick me clean, bone and flesh until you have my heart in your hands to drip loving trails along the path.

[ A tempting image. Leto relishes an end like no other. And the idea of dying to someone he loves is the ultimate romance. ]

[Yes, he is starting to get an impression of Leto's death wish.]

I am a greedy thing, Leto. I might devour your heart first rather than anticipate the prize.

[He leans down for a moment to say quietly and low:]

Or perhaps I might treat you gently like a thing of glass, because it is what you do not want nor think you deserve, and that is the best sort of torment.

[ He can't repress the shiver at that. It would be a torment, but not one he entirely fears. Simply one he has to reject out of duty. ]

But anticipation is half the trill. Who knows what lies under the skin of a worm?

[The movement hidden from general view, he draws his finger lightly over Leto's side, mimicking the considered cut of a butcher.]

I shall find out eventually, I think.

[ He doesn't deny it. One wonders what he sees, what he has seen. ]

Any eventuality can come to pass with the right motivation.
