[ last time he posted anything, he was a nervous wreck and kind of nauseous. the changes the past two months have left in him are impossible to miss; winn is smiling, upbeat, and almost comfortable. the nervous energy that is there has more to do with his addressing a bunch of strangers than the constant fear of death by space-stuff that overshadowed his first feed. ]

Hi, if we don't know each other - I'm Winn Schott. If we do know each other...I'm still Winn Schott - [ shaking his head, why hasn't he learned from the last time? prepare a script! ]

Anyway! I've been here for a couple months now, and it's been interesting - and I mean that in the original sense of the word. Think about it - not only are we in outer space [ there's only a slight wince at that, and even a lot of excitement. space is terrifying - but it's also really cool ] - but we have a once in a lifetime opportunity to reach across the multiverse and learn things that haven't even been dreamed up in our worlds yet. I've been learning - a ton from just casually talking to people, but there is a much better way to do this if we all cooperate, [ open source. it's the way of the future! ] and I know I'm not the only one out there who's interested!

So, I've got a suggestion for anyone who thinks that's really cool - and - pity for anyone who doesn't [ and by pity, he means judgment. he gestures excitedly with his hands as he introduces his brilliant concept ] - 2016: A Space-Time Odyssey - a series of free weekly lectures about anything and everything we've got here. Talks about different worlds, science, history, art lessons, concerts - I know we've got some musicians here - basically anything anyone signs up to talk about, teach, perform, or however you communicate things where you're from. Since we don't have a lecture hall we can broadcast the talks - give ourselves a fun routine....and if that doesn't work for someone, I can post the notes I'm so gonna take of all of these. Who's in? Who wants to go first?

[ he took an intuitive leap. a name is one of the first things people tend to look for in strangers, it's a way to un-strange them. ]

....Oh. Yeah. [ Well that just simplifies things in a way that make him feel a little silly and underwhelmed, but he tries not to look it too much. ]

Yeah, he named me after a friend of his!

[ this is why magicians don't reveal their tricks. he should have gone with 'I'm psychic' shouldn't he. ]

Must've really liked you. [ he'll never really be able to tell whether sacha's from the past or an alternate world, but it seems pretty clear that either way it's behind on technologies available in his. ] Is that where you were taken from?

[ It would have gained him a fanboy, that's for sure. Sascha's always wanted to meet someone connected to the actual occult. ]

The village? Nah... That was a long time ago. [ How long, one wonders, since he doesn't look older than mid-twenty at most. ] I was in a way bigger city before I came here.

[ It comes out fluid and natural, but Sascha consciously chooses not to touch on the subject of Abe; that story is not a happy one, and he doesn't want to think of how he'd betrayed the man's trust by turning out to be a monster instead of the human he thought he was. ]

people don't always sense the passage of time logically, something could feel very long even when it isn't, so winn doesn't pay it too much attention. ]

What was that like? Do you remember the name of the city?

[ he doesn't push, that village doesn't sound like something he'd leave unless there was some pressing need, and those aren't usually the nicest things to talk about. ]

Marseilles, I think. I'm not super-good at French yet. [ Yet. He's been working on it for a year or two so far though, and he's coming along. He'd once tried French about fifty years prior, but it hadn't taken too well. ]

I've heard of Marseilles -- [ hey common ground! they've established that both of their worlds have a France.

Aww, it's okay! Usually people don't ask this kinda stuff, it's fun♥ [ translation: people don't usually have any interest in him/care/want to talk to him, and Winn doing that makes this fun. ]

Is there anyone else from your world here?

[ his earth. he's had this talk so many times and he still doesn't know where to even begin. ]

Well, there's a lot of tech - people talk on a network like this one only a hell of a lot more sophisticated all the time. I'm from the US -- I donno if it exists in your world? [ would he know? he doesn't seem to know a whole lot about the world around him... ]

I don't...thiiink so? But I wouldn't really know. [ Because vampires aren't really Out as much, and tend to keep to themselves when they aren't eating. Most humans know of them, but have never met one. ]

I've never heard of a US though. Where's that?

[ not a lot of friends back home? he can relate. ]

It stands for 'United States' of America. It's in north-America.

[ It's an unfortunate side-effect of being a vampire, alas. ]
