I knew I should have looked up 'reality shows' a few months back.

[ The man who appears on the screen is currently looking at what seems to be a little notepad before adding the word 'space' next to the words 'reality tv'. Really, he could have done this space setting if it included an inter-galactic war or helping planets in peril.

But in all honesty, Steve Rogers: entertainer has never been his career choice and it's not his forte, either. At least now the whole thing doesn't include singing and girls in scandalously short skirts. ]

My name is Steve Rogers, currently aboard the SS Pathstone. I've done a little bit of reading while aboard the Marsiva. I understand there are those who are trying to help the people on the moon we're visiting, if there is anything you need, I'd do whatever I can do to help.

[ you might catch a glimmer of red and blue and silver just behind him. A wink as the light hits metal ]

The same goes for going home. I imagine people have already looked into ways for us to leave this place. No one should be taken anywhere against their will. I'd like to hear about the information you have managed to collect and I'll do everything I can to make sure everyone will be able to go home safely.

[ you all get a little smile. he's so awkward at these things, can you tell by now. ]

[ he nods, looks at the comm before looking back at him ]

You think that thing can work against us like that?

I think we've been neatly plucked out of multiple dimensions and times, and no matter what powers people show up here with -- they can't get out. I think I'm not taking anything for granted, and I doubt they'd bother with complicated and probably pricey brain surgery just to help us survive in space.

it's worth looking into. Maybe some people's powers have changed here. If the - things placed in our heads can temper with these sort of things, maybe it's the same for other things, too.

[ he looks down at his hands ]

I don't feel any change but maybe others do.

And maybe we're all different and we just don't know it. It's in our heads, it could mess with anything. But going down maybe lane is a sure way to give yourself an existential crisis and a giant headache - trust me, I've got both at least 10 times a day.

Well - this is hardly my expertise.

[ and that's saying it kindly ]

I am assigned security here. I suppose I can say I am - assigned similar duties back home.

[ after all, isn't it what the Avengers are all about? ]

keeping people safe from harm.

[ battling alien armies, demi gods and AI robots gone out of control, the normal stuff ]

[ yeah, that sounds pretty normal to winn.

he nods. so kicking and punching. figures. ]

They seem to kinda have a hero-fetish around here.

[ maybe this whole thing is a test - to see if they can make their way out? if that's so, maybe being the one to do it is a terrible idea. maybe it's the way to survive. he doesn't know, and he can't allow himself to dwell on it because one way or another they have to get back, and he has to take kitty with him. ]

[ and every now and then, an inspirational speech or two. ]

I'm beginning to think they really do. A lot of my old team is stationed here across the ships. I was beginning to wonder why they brought us all together here.

[ in a way, it's good. the more Avengers, the more people to help him protect the others if the need will arise ]

[ a lot of his team - there are two teams there seems to be a lot of members of - avengers and x-men. and now that he thinks about it, he has heard the name 'steve rogeres' before -- recognition hits. ]

Avengers, right? [ he's aware of at least two main universes those are from. ] Which ones are your teammates?

The Avengers, yes. From what I've gathered so far, Vision is on the Windrose, there's Clint, he has a protegee named Kate who I haven't met yet and there is Wanda aboard the Starstruck.

[ and after a moment ]

Alongside Peggy Carter, their captain.

[ and while she may not be an Avenger, he's including her in the list since she had earned it through and through with what she had done for the world. there wouldn't be a SHIELD or the Avengers without her work earlier in history. ]

Clint and Kate are from a different universe than Vision - I'm - not sure about Wanda and Peggy. Do you know which, if any, are from yours?

[ oh, is he noticing a familiar sort of look there, at the mention of that last name? ]

All of them aside of Clint and Kate. Though we are not all from the same time.

[ to say the least.

[ he's seen that look in the mirror for the past two years, dude. ]

How big's the difference?

[ steve gets all the sympathy for that - being ahead of kara was rough. being behind her - is also rough. but he knows it can be so much worse, they're never separated by that big a gap, at least. ]

[ well there isn't a point in hiding it, eventually it'll come to surface ]

Some of us a matter of months, the most - 70 years give or take.

[ this will never not be very painful ]

70 years?

[ jesus. and he thought he had problems with kara. 70 years. do they even know each other? is it a - wise-old-mentor turned bratty-kid situation? man, this really has to be a reality show, because it's too crazy for real-reality. ]

Are you behind or ahead?

That's a question I'm trying to figure out myself.

[ his smile is a little rueful before he adds ]

ahead, mostly.

[ he tries to work that out in his head: so his wise old mentor is a crazy kid now? that has to be weird -- and doesn't know him, either, because unless he doesn't age there's no way he was alive 70 years ago. it's clearly someone who means a lot to him, being unknown can't be easy.

he offers a sympathetic smile in return. ]

I'm sorry, that's really rough.

It's -

[ rough and heartbreaking and heart-lifting and wonderful and tragic all at the same time. steve will never quite be able to determine exactly what it means to be alongside peggy carter again. ]

Not what I expected when I came here but it's - we're managing as best as we can.

[ that makes him frown a little ]

You had expectations from an inter-dimensional space abduction? Those happen to you a lot?

[ because similar things do happen to some people a lot ok, and the more they find out about what these pocket dimensions have in common - the closer they'll get to figuring out what's going on, why, and how to reverse it. no information is trivial, at this point! ]

The abductions, no. The alien and other space parts - I have some experience with.

[ you know, the usual. thor. loki. an army of aliens destroying NYC. ]

So your tone is saying that's -- bad.

[ he has some bad alien experiences too, but the good will always outweigh them because - kara. ]

Not all of them were bad. One of them is a very good friend, Thor of Asgard. He has a brother here, however and he is -

[ how do we define loki ]

problematic. But we've handled him before in my world and we'll do it here if he acts out of line.

Family's like that -

[ tilting his head and shaking it slightly with an awkward smile. kara's amazing, clark's a hero - the aunt and uncle are batshit insane. ]

Is he the -- we should all be worried problematic or the stay away from family dinners problematic?

-- he says he changed. He didn't cause any harm here that I know but I also know what he's capable of. I would say - proceed with caution. He's very powerful.

[ and very proud which really worries him given the setting ]
