I knew I should have looked up 'reality shows' a few months back.

[ The man who appears on the screen is currently looking at what seems to be a little notepad before adding the word 'space' next to the words 'reality tv'. Really, he could have done this space setting if it included an inter-galactic war or helping planets in peril.

But in all honesty, Steve Rogers: entertainer has never been his career choice and it's not his forte, either. At least now the whole thing doesn't include singing and girls in scandalously short skirts. ]

My name is Steve Rogers, currently aboard the SS Pathstone. I've done a little bit of reading while aboard the Marsiva. I understand there are those who are trying to help the people on the moon we're visiting, if there is anything you need, I'd do whatever I can do to help.

[ you might catch a glimmer of red and blue and silver just behind him. A wink as the light hits metal ]

The same goes for going home. I imagine people have already looked into ways for us to leave this place. No one should be taken anywhere against their will. I'd like to hear about the information you have managed to collect and I'll do everything I can to make sure everyone will be able to go home safely.

[ you all get a little smile. he's so awkward at these things, can you tell by now. ]

Quite a party indeed, Captain Rogers. [ -- oh, her throat is tight. but peggy greets this broadcast with a dauntless optimism in her eyes. let sadness reign in the hours that come after these few sweet words. she can't bring herself to mourn him once again -- not when he proves himself so willing to hit the ground helping.

her words hitch: ] There was dancing.

[Kitty had met Orion a grand total of once, but she'd still managed to bond with the guy in that time. His disappearance had been disappointing. And here is the man he mentioned looking like freshly without the arm that matches Winter's. After a moment she decides to respond.]

Welcome to the party. [It never stops. It's just a different kind of dancing for the cameras.]

Steve Rgoers the Avenger?

Let me help you out - reality show means 'watched at all times' - even though we haven't really been able to locate the cameras -

[ which has been bothering the hell out of him. maybe the only parts that are actually being filmed...are the ones they're filming themselves? he's been trying to trace any sort of signal, and nothing's come up. if they're using satellite imaging then they can't be getting very much - no matter how good their tech gets, the vantage point it pretty limited. ]

Not sure where is a good place to have this discussion but this probably [ definitely, his eyes say ] isn't it.

[ah, the siren call of awkward. A state of being Hank knows well]

Not familiar with reality shows either, huh? [boy did he understand that. What a ridiculous concept for a TV show]

As for the, uh, information, I'd be happy to share what little I do know, but - not over the network like this. [he does look apologetic] But I've only been here a little while, so you might be better off with someone who's been here longer.

[ he looks at her for a good long moment even it becomes obvious the comm is sending its signal to her. He should have taken a moment to look at the message and take her in before - it would have saved him this long moment of evident staring but Steve Rogers, after all, was never good at talking or approaching women. Especially the one who meant more than all the rest.

The last time he had seen her this young, she pressed close and gave him the first and only kiss he ever had the luck of getting from her. After that, it was her image here and there, the videos from a time he couldn't return to.

And in his thoughts, always in his thoughts. ]

I'd embarrass my partner, I don't really know how to dance.

[ said with a little sheepish smile. ]

I remember a girl who once told me she'd teach me.

[Well now, there's a welcome sight.]

Captain Rogers. I'm glad to see you're here.

I'm afraid there's been remarkably little progress on finding a way to return to our home timelines, even from Mr. Stark while he was present.

I remember. [ truncated, and aching. but peggy manages to draw a smile out from behind her uncertainty. the broadcast frames her slightly off-center, with hair longer than he might best remember. and the collar of a silk blouse suggesting she isn't in any recognizable uniform.

not normally lost for words, she now takes her time -- watching him, missing him, and realizing that even his former stint within the fleet had hardly been enough to satisfy her. ]

-- You were sorely missed. And you would have made a better student, I imagine, than the partner I had.

[ cruel, perhaps. but she's only teasing him. because soon enough she'll tell him who her partner was, and they can tackle the bucky-shaped problem together. ]

[ S.H.I.E.L.D is perhaps gone, taken down with HYDRA as Steve had insisted after he has heard of what was done with Armin Zola, of what was growing inside S.H.I.E.L.D without anyone knowing, who Steve has been working for in a way. ]

[ not even a bit sarcastic, he's actually writing all of this down. Somehow, catching up with the Beatles was somewhat higher on his to do list. He does regret it now, it'd be nice to have some sort of background on all of this. ]

If we are indeed watched at all times, is there a safe place?

[ he looks around him, already not liking this one bit. Even though he's dead, he feels as if Armin Zola's voice might suddenly be heard in the room ]

No, not really. It's somewhere on my list of things I should be catching up on but.

[ a bit of a smile ]

[ oh boy. See, he could see the appeal in Stark doing reality television, at the very least. As for himself - not to mention Vision. These people have odd taste in entertainment, he'd give them that. ]

[ wow, he hasn't met someone this cheerful in years, very literally. he smiles a bit. ]

[ and it's good to see people keeping and maintaining a high morale, even at times like these. ]

[ if she can't literally save people here, the least she can do is help them smile ]

Nice to meet you too, Steve. And it's been a few months. Three and a half? That seems about right. Which is just a drop in the bucket compared to some other folks.

[...feeding his fish, because he keeps a large fishtank there.]

I've heard a lot about them since I've been here. [They are all the rage.] No such team back home, but apparently there are some worlds where our teams overlap and even share members.

Kind of funny that your parents named you Steve and you grew up to do the heroing thing. I wonder if that was their plan all along. [A pause as she realizes that's too much reality overlap to assume he understands.] Which probably only makes sense if you know there was a WWII hero named Steve Rogers too.

[ and as beautiful as he remembers her, even more so being here and well and almost in his reach. it has been like this since he met her, after all. she was always all too clever and beautiful and almost, almost in his reach but not quite.

he had slipped from her grasp years and years ago but here and now they are almost, just nearly, seeing eye to eye at last.

he's not very good at this, even after all those years and all those changes, his expression becomes a little pained ( is it someone he doesn't know? is it the man she will one day marry? ) before he smiles and says the only truth he knows ]

I hope he realized how lucky he is.

[a pause, and then he remembers he's forgetting his manners] Oh - er, I'm Hank McCoy. It's nice to meet you, Steve. Circumstances aside and all.

The SS Tourist?

[ there is exactly one moment of a beat as he writes it down. ]

I'm on my way.

[ first and foremost and forever, Steve is a soldier. He had his share of missions since the war has ended, fighting alien armies and a robot with the sense of humor of one Tony Stark. This here is another mission, help the moon and the planets, bring people home, stop the organization from kidnapping more innocent people into this weird place. ]

[ ok - that was easy. and sudden. ]

Right, I'll wait for your shuttle.

[ why does he suddenly feel the need to salute before signing off? what exactly is he getting himself into, here?

he heads to the cargo bay to await the shuttle, leaning against the wall. ]

[ he'd try and deal with the reality of overlapping worlds in a minute. He's mostly used to thinking about worlds in the terms of Asgard but it doesn't surprise him to find out there are more.

More of the same, however, that's definitely new. ]

I know the guy.

[ he smiles a bit before confessing, as Steve has never been very good with secrets ]

It's a bit of a long story but we're one and the same.

What's the longest you've heard of anyone staying here?

[ some would say those are the people to look for, the ones who would know the most. Steve has always thought, however, that everyone has an equal and important say. Those who have been here for a few months are as valuable as the ones who have been here for years.

..He does hope there is no here who has spent years trapped away from their worlds. ]

About a year, but I don't think that's the norm. For most it's been less time.

There's a theory going around, though, that…have you heard of "pocket dimensions"?

Captain Vision?

[ said with a little smile of approval. Steve might not have been in favor of Vision's creation, not after Ultron but it is a good thing that he was never the sort of a man who isn't able to admit when he was wrong about something. ]

I'll be on my way, Captain.

[ he nods, the smile lingering there ]
