I knew I should have looked up 'reality shows' a few months back.

[ The man who appears on the screen is currently looking at what seems to be a little notepad before adding the word 'space' next to the words 'reality tv'. Really, he could have done this space setting if it included an inter-galactic war or helping planets in peril.

But in all honesty, Steve Rogers: entertainer has never been his career choice and it's not his forte, either. At least now the whole thing doesn't include singing and girls in scandalously short skirts. ]

My name is Steve Rogers, currently aboard the SS Pathstone. I've done a little bit of reading while aboard the Marsiva. I understand there are those who are trying to help the people on the moon we're visiting, if there is anything you need, I'd do whatever I can do to help.

[ you might catch a glimmer of red and blue and silver just behind him. A wink as the light hits metal ]

The same goes for going home. I imagine people have already looked into ways for us to leave this place. No one should be taken anywhere against their will. I'd like to hear about the information you have managed to collect and I'll do everything I can to make sure everyone will be able to go home safely.

[ you all get a little smile. he's so awkward at these things, can you tell by now. ]

I heard I've missed quite a party.

[ he'd try and deal with the reality of overlapping worlds in a minute. He's mostly used to thinking about worlds in the terms of Asgard but it doesn't surprise him to find out there are more.

More of the same, however, that's definitely new. ]

I know the guy.

[ he smiles a bit before confessing, as Steve has never been very good with secrets ]

It's a bit of a long story but we're one and the same.

...What? Seriously?

[This surprise is not brought to you by the confusing time shenanigans that creates because her life has been sculpted by crazy shenanigans. She's also known people who were immortal and various other things that could explain him being from then and now. Even if it's something totally new it's not like she finds these things that shocking anymore.

No, this surprise is the surprise of a girl who had something of a specific interest in WWII because her grandfather would often speak of it. He wasn't there for it, mind you. He'd immigrated to America from Poland to escape the war as a child, but his sister hadn't been so lucky. The last they'd heard of her she was in Auschwitz. He made it a point that his granddaughter knew more than just what classes would teach her. And among other things that included stories about Captain America. So, this is the surprise of possibly the only fangirling Kitty has ever done.]

[ he smiles. he's used to this form of response. there are people who grew up on the tales of Captain America, people who inherited their grandparents' old comic book collections from the time of the war, those who have been to his museum. It's not met with any sort of vanity, Steve considers it a right and a privilege to be able to be in people's service, to be able to give them any sort of hope even now.

so he gives her a little salute. ]

Yes ma'am, at your service.

Uh, thank you for your service. [Did that sound strange since he just said he was at her service?] I mean then during the war, not with me now. Not that I wouldn't thank you for that too, but oh wow I'm still talking. [What good is it to have a power where you can literally sink into the ground during moments like this when the ground is a space ship and that's too dangerous?]

[ he's still smiling as she talks ]

It's always ever been my honor and my privilege. As any men who served would say, I think. It was our duty, to make sure the world would be a safer place for everyone.

[ as is the duty of any soldier. ]

Whatever I can do to help you all in here, I promise I'll do it.

[He actually talks like that. She's kind of mesmerized and she really wishes she could tell her grandpa about this, but of course she can't.

Right, duty...]

This place is remarkably unwarlike. [Yes, she can give a report. That would be a very X-Man and not fangirl like thing to do.] The fleet has been assembled for over a year now from what I can tell and I've only heard about one notable conflict with outside parties.

Already one too many. Could you tell me about it?

[ and a moment later, the manners of the boy from Brooklyn return in full force and he smiles again ]

please, forgive me. I never even asked for your name.

[Steve Rogers wants to know her name! Pryde, where is your chill? She smiles back at him.] Kitty Pryde.

I'm one of the X-Men which about half the Avengers have heard of and half haven't. [Well, not quite half and half.]

And, I wasn't here for it, but ships fired on the fleet, and Dr. Crusher indicated that the attack pattern seemed more about driving the fleet into a nebula than actually harming anyone.

It's nice to meet you, Kitty.

[ he sits back. this can only be tackled one batch of information at the time and better begin with the part that's more familiar and that she actually remembers before anything else ]

I must be from the second half, I never had the pleasure of meeting any of the - X-Men.

It's really good to meet you too... Captain Rogers. [It feels weird calling him Steve. She needs an adult.]

We're a team of people with powers, except we all got them the same way.

You can call me Steve.

[ equal terms should always be held between allies, not to mention friends. all of them being trapped here in the same predicament means Steve wishes for them to at least be allies.

friends, of course, would be preferable. always is. ]

Powers?

[ he thinks of wanda for a moment, wonders if she found others like her in this world.

Steve. [Oh, she has the most embarrassing, flattered smile right now.]

Um, yeah, I could show you?

Only if you don't mind.

[ he knows at times, these sort of things can be considered private and sensitive ]

Who me? I like showing off. [Have a smile, Steve.] So, over the network or in person? [She can't just invite herself over to Steve Roger's ship!]

I think this might be something I'd want to see for myself.

[ smiling ]

I'll come see you, if it's alright. I don't want you going out of your way for my sake.

[Steve Rogers wants to see her powers for himself! Be cool.] I'm on the Windrose, so if you were planning to visit Vision that might work out anyway.

I was, actually.

[ he nods; out of frame, he is already reaching for his jacket ]

Are you two friends?

I think so. [She's good with that term anyway.] He's also my captain now. He's the one who mentioned Steve Rogers was an avenger. I just didn't think you would be the same Steve Rogers.

He's a good choice for captain.

[ calm and collected and a force for good. any crew would be lucky to have someone with such a strong moral compass and a clear view between right and wrong, the same line humans seem to find confusing. ]

I'll be there shortly. Thank you for agreeing to see me.

He's been really great. [And she'll let him mention he was replacing Natasha if he wants to bring that up.

Steve Rogers is thanking her for meeting with him.] Not a problem at all. [Don't say sir.] Steve. [She smiles and will just be on her ship waiting!]

[ he'll be there not long after that, climbing off the shuttle with easy steps, strapping the shield to his back as he approaches her ]

Hey, Kitty.

[ a smile as he offers a hand to shake ]

Nice to see you in person.

[She doesn't normally smile this much. It's not even excessive or creepy. It's just so much more than her default face normally gives off. She reaches out for his hand. How is this really a thing that's happening right now? She really wishes she could tell Grandpa or Mom and Dad and it's really impressive the smile withstands those thoughts.]

You too.

[And then noticing what he's doing there with those straps.] You have the shield! They didn't take it? They take all the weapons. [At least she thought they did.]

Well, they've taken everything else. Maybe they let me keep it since it's mostly for defense rather than attack.

[ and he won't use it, not ever, not unless he has to. he watches that smile for a moment and it may have been many years since captain America has met a fan but he knows the ordeal. he takes it off and offers it to her ]

Here. Maybe you can show me where to put it. I don't want to alarm anyone.

[She reaches out to take it when offered and her eyes do widen and this is embarrassing but she doesn't care because she is holding the shield! Use your words, Pryde.]

Um, no one's going to be alarmed. [Would it be rude to phase through it just to see how that feels? Okay, keeping her molecules to herself.] We can lock it up in my room if you want, but I'm sure everyone will be fine.

[Still looking at it though and her voice drops a little but it's still aloud.] I've never wanted to be shot at this much.

...You want to hold onto it a little longer?

[ smiling because she is young and this is endearing in its own way ]
