I knew I should have looked up 'reality shows' a few months back.
[ The man who appears on the screen is currently looking at what seems to be a little notepad before adding the word 'space' next to the words 'reality tv'. Really, he could have done this space setting if it included an inter-galactic war or helping planets in peril.
But in all honesty, Steve Rogers: entertainer has never been his career choice and it's not his forte, either. At least now the whole thing doesn't include singing and girls in scandalously short skirts. ]
My name is Steve Rogers, currently aboard the SS Pathstone. I've done a little bit of reading while aboard the Marsiva. I understand there are those who are trying to help the people on the moon we're visiting, if there is anything you need, I'd do whatever I can do to help.
[ you might catch a glimmer of red and blue and silver just behind him. A wink as the light hits metal ]
The same goes for going home. I imagine people have already looked into ways for us to leave this place. No one should be taken anywhere against their will. I'd like to hear about the information you have managed to collect and I'll do everything I can to make sure everyone will be able to go home safely.
[ you all get a little smile. he's so awkward at these things, can you tell by now. ]
I heard I've missed quite a party.

[ it's not a conversation that can happen over these devices, he suspects Winter already knows as much ]

How big is the crew aboard this ship?
action;
Nine including myself. Capacity for ten.
action;
[ a nod ]
it has all you need?
action;
[ His gaze flicks around the cargo bay, shrugging a shoulder. ]
Could do without the cold, but nothing can be done about it.
action;
[ he looks around, too ]
it's not bad. Much better than the Marsiva. The constant music was --
[ entirely too annoying.]
distracting.
action;
[ He makes a face, recalling the unpleasant first stay on the Marsiva. ]
..Agreed.
action;
[ he leans on the wall of the cargo bay, arms folded ]
There's not much here but the people seem kind.
Re: action;
[ Winter shifts where he stands, sending with himself before he looks back at Steve. Belatedly, he remembers his manners. ]
Do you want something to drink? Or anything?
action;
[ and - little dolls that also wear gas masks which steve finds entirely too creepy and not at all good as souvenirs.
he has to smile at the offer. ]
Non-toxic water might be nice.
action;
He motions for Steve to sit. ]
Water, tea, or coffee?
action;
Coffee will be great.
[ he looks around the room ]
You're captain.
action;
I am. Not by choice.
[ He doesn't exactly feel like he should give it up, either. Jim did it with little complaint, so he wants to try, too.
The coffee pot clicks when it's finished and Winter brings over a mug for each of them, setting a mug down to Steve's side and sinking into a seat across from him. ]
action;
[ duties, after all, are something neither of them has been a stranger to. when winter was still bucky, he was nothing short of a dutiful friend, he had been the same in the war and much of his actions have inspired steve, in turn. ]
thank you.
[ he lifts the mug ]
-- it's good. all considered.
action;
[ Giving up isn't coded into his DNA, and neither is shirking his duty. It was never something HYDRA instilled, only an enhanced behavior.
His fingers curl around his own coffee mug, absorbing the warmth before taking a cautious sip of his own. ]
I have had worse.
action;
[ God knows as much as Bucky used to sigh at Steve's stubbornness, he was equally as prone to it. ]
Where.
[ it's not small talk as much as he wants to find out more of his memories. better the simpler ones than the other, darker ones, for now. ]
action;
[ Before that, though? Probably during the war. He contemplates hard, albeit briefly. Winter frowns, rubbing over his chin. ]
I don't know the exact date, but.. France? Dugan tried to mix what was left of the coffee with something else. [ Was it Dugan? Or was he mixing things up? He glances at Steve for confirmation. ]
action;
His coffee would take the prize for the worst cup. Sort of weird to think a race of aliens can make a better mixture.
action;
action;
[ he has to smile at that ]
I have to say I'm grateful space isn't trying.
action;
[ He leans back in his chair, both hands around his mug of coffee. ]
