I knew I should have looked up 'reality shows' a few months back.
[ The man who appears on the screen is currently looking at what seems to be a little notepad before adding the word 'space' next to the words 'reality tv'. Really, he could have done this space setting if it included an inter-galactic war or helping planets in peril.
But in all honesty, Steve Rogers: entertainer has never been his career choice and it's not his forte, either. At least now the whole thing doesn't include singing and girls in scandalously short skirts. ]
My name is Steve Rogers, currently aboard the SS Pathstone. I've done a little bit of reading while aboard the Marsiva. I understand there are those who are trying to help the people on the moon we're visiting, if there is anything you need, I'd do whatever I can do to help.
[ you might catch a glimmer of red and blue and silver just behind him. A wink as the light hits metal ]
The same goes for going home. I imagine people have already looked into ways for us to leave this place. No one should be taken anywhere against their will. I'd like to hear about the information you have managed to collect and I'll do everything I can to make sure everyone will be able to go home safely.
[ you all get a little smile. he's so awkward at these things, can you tell by now. ]
I heard I've missed quite a party.

isn't it like magic
Toxic. Breathing is only possible through the masks, water must not be approached or touched in any manner.
[ is he missing something, jim? ]
Re: isn't it like magic
That's about it. I haven't come across much in the way of animals, but be prepared for that all the same. I would be cautious handling any flora as well - we don't know the extent that the toxins have changed them. Oh - and watch your step. We had a few people get stuck in a mine shaft not that long ago.
[ He motions for Steve to follow once he has the water, making for their shuttle and settling comfortably into the pilots seat. He doesn't have the augment for it, but the controls weren't terribly different from a Fleet shuttle so he had learned quickly. And just like that they're on their way. ]

[ it can never be a simple walk through the woods, can it? he leans into his seat as the shuttle rises into air ]
I heard there was a sort of a greenhouse where the - party was. That must be how they also grow food.

[ Don't be silly Steve. Men like themselves? That is not how their lives work. ]
I personally didn't see any structure big enough to be growing food, but that's the most likely conclusion. What we were allowed to walk through was a museum of sorts, preserving original flora before it got twisted by the toxic gases.

[ safety first, and all o that ]
At least they have something left of the time before it all went wrong.

Generally, I think the natives avoid the forests. There's not much of a reason for them to go in, as far as I can tell. They can't eat anything from it, and none of the wood would be suitable for building.
[ But Steve was free to make a comment on it if he wanted. Kirk was sure the natives knew about them. ]
Very true. If we do find a solution, those specimens will likely be key in restoring the local ecosystems.
