[Apollo looks... a little flustered? Slightly bewildered? Like he might have accidentally exploded cooking supplies?]

I'm trying this cooking thing. I'm pretty sure it's not dangerous to eat, but does anyone want to come and be a guinea pig? These gel things are making roasts a lot fucking harder than they should be...

[On the Bishop, Apollo has taken over the kitchen for now. He manages to look surprisingly domestic, bumming around in ship standard provided clothing and hair pulled up into a ponytail that bobs along to whatever music he's imagining as he 'cooks'.

Cooking occasionally involves eye lasers. Which doesn't work on the gels half as well as he hoped it would.]

[Oh, muffins. Shinji hasn't had a muffin in forever, it feels like. The promise of one doesn't quite steady him, but he doesn't run away from it, either. He makes his way over to the stool and then sits down gingerly.]

Thank you, [he says, peering at the plate of muffins. He picks up one.] I'm Shinji, Shinji Ikari, from over on the Heron. This is the first time I've visited this ship... [He sniffs at the muffin as discreetly as possible.] What did you put in these?

[Apollo doesn't stand, he knows his height and build is intimidating, especially to someone timid.

He does get given another warm smile and a nod.]

Nice to meet you, Shinji. Um, there's flour, sugar, something that I think is milk, salt, egg substitute... usual stuff, really. But, they're a touch dry unless you dip them in the sweet gel. I made a bowl of mixed berry like flavour jelly stuff from some of those sweet cubes.

I worked under the theory that if my daughter would've enjoyed it, it probably isn't too bad.

[After facing down colossal aliens that wanted to kill him, Shinji shouldn't have a problem with normal human shapes. But... when he's feeling as low as a cockroach, everything else feels like it's out to get him. The muffins are innocent bystanders, though.

He takes a small bite. The dry flavor isn't anything spectacular, but it's nothing to recoil from.] It tastes like a muffin, [he says, which is the goal of making muffins, really.] And if I try it with... [He dips the muffin's untouched side into the gel, then takes another small bite.] Oh, that's not bad at all. Pretty much tastes like real berries.

[I usually split it in half and spoon a bunch of the jelly stuff in the middle, let it soak through.]
