Hey! Soooooo since we're all stuck here, and going outside on this planet kinda sucks bigtime right now, I've been making it a project of mine to try and learn as much as I can about the different cultures of the other worlds people here are from! Particularly Earth, because there's so many of you! Someone told me the collective noun is "Earthlings"? Anyway.

I've been trawling through the media library, but to be honest, I'm not very good at sitting and reading for long periods of time. So I figured, why not just ask you guys instead?

Tell me one (or more!) thing about your home world that you think is culturally significant. It can be traditional, religious, social, or pop culture is fair game too! After all, it's no fun when people are making pop culture references that fly over my head.

The only rule is that you can't say the same thing as someone else. You ready? Go!

[Wanda's cheeks are subtly, yet noticeably, growing redder.]

We did not get much pop music imported into Sokovia... but there was one group who's tape I owned...

[Wanda presses some buttons on the communicator, clearly trying to find something in the fleet's database. When she finds it, there's a few key presses and the casette's cover image appears on Ashoka's screen.]

[Ahsoka looks at them for a minute.]

... They all look very... pretty?

[If Wanda's face was pink before, it's a bright red now.]

That- That is not why I liked them! [She's not really convincing, is she?] They... are... talented singers...

[She repeats that again, trying to seem nonchalant yet firm.]

They make good music.

[resnipstance]

[Ahsoka grins with good humour.]

Of course.

Can you... play me your favourite track?

[The red stays in Wanda's cheeks. She hesitates, unsure if Ashoka is teasing her, or if she's genuinely curious. After a moment, she presses some buttons on the communicator, and an audio file appears on Ashoka's screen. The track's title reads "Everybody (Backstreet’s Back)."]

[Wanda doesn't say anything, she just watches and waits to see what Ashoka's reaction is to the song.]

[Ahsoka bops her head in tune to the song as it plays, getting more into it as the song goes on.]

Hey-- this is catchy!

[Wanda's eyes go wide for a moment, surprise turning quickly into a look of relief, and then into a look of satisfaction.]

Not so bad after all, eh?

[resnipstance]

I can see why you like them!

[notmutantbutmiracle]

[That gets a big smile out of Wanda. It's not exactly every day she gets complimented for her music choices. In fact, this might be the first...]

If you like that album, they have several others. "Millennium" is probably my favorite.

[resnipstance]

You know, I don't know why we're talking about this over comms. You could come over to my room and we could listen to music together in person!

[Well, she had an obvious point. Admittedly, Wanda had been sticking to over the communicator, because, well, had things perhaps gone more in a negative direction, it was easier to eject herself out of the conversation. However, since Ashoka seemed to instead be actually enjoying her music choices, she was more than happy to accept that invitation.]

Sure. I'm on my way over.

[Not but a minute later, Wanda will knock on Ashoka's bunk room door.]

It's open!

[notmutantbutmiracle]

[Wanda slides the door open enough to peek her head in, smiling a greeting at Ashoka, before opening the door all the way and walking inside. She looks around the bunkroom for a moment, deciding it probably wouldn't be too impolite to park it on her shipmate's bed. It's not like the bunkrooms were all that accommodating for multiple guests.]

So you like them then?

[resnipstance]

I do. It doesn't hurt that they're pretty. I bet I would've had a crush on one of them, when I was younger.

... But the music's catchy too.

[notmutantbutmiracle]

[Wanda smiles back, nodding encouragingly. She's never gotten a chance to introduce someone to something that she has like before. It was fun.]

That's right. You got any others?

[Wanda gestures politely with her hands, asking if she might borrow Ashoka's communicator for a moment.]

May I?

[resnipstance]

[Ahsoka hands the communicator over.]

Go ahead. Blow my mind.

[notmutantbutmiracle]

[Wanda smiles at that. Challenge accepted.]

[She accepts Ashoka's communicator, and hits a few keys. When she's finished, a new album cover is on the device's screen. And a new song, "Larger Than Life" is queued up to play.]

[She sits back, watching Ashoka's reaction to this new selection.]
