Hey! Soooooo since we're all stuck here, and going outside on this planet kinda sucks bigtime right now, I've been making it a project of mine to try and learn as much as I can about the different cultures of the other worlds people here are from! Particularly Earth, because there's so many of you! Someone told me the collective noun is "Earthlings"? Anyway.

I've been trawling through the media library, but to be honest, I'm not very good at sitting and reading for long periods of time. So I figured, why not just ask you guys instead?

Tell me one (or more!) thing about your home world that you think is culturally significant. It can be traditional, religious, social, or pop culture is fair game too! After all, it's no fun when people are making pop culture references that fly over my head.

The only rule is that you can't say the same thing as someone else. You ready? Go!

The Force is the energy of the universe. The energy that flows through all living things. When we die, we return to it.

A few people are able to keep their consciousness alive after death in the Force. That's what we call the Living Force.

[That's sort of the world's most over-simplified explanation ever but w/e w/e idk my bff Star Wars.]

How did you find the "place he departed to" then?

[she pauses, trying to think of how to explain this]

Ummm. As far as children's stories go, yeah. Sure.

[bloodbiter]

They are far from things of fiction in my world. They are magical beings which protect our world from forces beyond our control. Typically, their realm and the human world are separate... Their castle can be found far above the clouds, where no mortal would be able to reach it.

In certain uncommon situations, people are brought to their castle. Drualt was offered a chance to join their ranks after he left Bamarre.

Huh. [Guess the Force manifests in all kinds of different ways on different planets.] That's so weird. But... kinda cool.

[bloodbiter]

It was amazing to see. To be able to look down and see the clouds miles below you... Since coming here, I've learned that it isn't such a rare sight for many people here, but it was incredible where I came from.

[resnipstance]

An amazing sight is still an amazing sight, no matter what other people are used to. Maybe it just means you can appreciate what they take for granted.

[bloodbiter]

That's true.

If I may, I would like to hear something about your world as well.

[resnipstance]

Oh! Sure. Sorry-- I guess that's only fair, right?

Well... I already told you about the Force. The next most obvious thing is the Jedi, but... that's kind of complicated. Have you met any other Jedi here? I'm curious.

[bloodbiter]

No apologies are needed.

[she nods]

I have, yes. Obi-Wan and I are on the same ship.

[resnipstance]

Oh! So you already know about them. I guess I'll have to find something else, then.

For reference, Obi-Wan was my old master's-- old master. [She chuckles.]

I certainly don't know all the details. I'm sure you could find something to tell me that I haven't heard as of yet.

Oh, I see! You two must be close, then.

[resnipstance]

... Mm. We were. I think, anyway. Things have been a bit awkward between us recently, but... I hope that it doesn't mean we're growing apart.

I'd like to think maybe our relationship is just changing. Not fading.

[bloodbiter]

I'm sorry to hear that. I won't pry, but I hope things become less awkward soon.

Don't worry about it. Hey, I still owe you a fact from my world, right?

It's hard to pin down one thing that's "universally important" in our galaxy because every planet has it's own different culture and holidays, but there's one I really like on Naboo. It's called the Festival of Light.

[bloodbiter]

The name alone is lovely. How is it celebrated?

[resnipstance]

It's the anniversary of Naboo joining the Galactic Republic-- they celebrate it with a massive fireworks display. Unlike any you've ever seen. I mean; there are fireworks, and then there are fireworks. It's like... the whole sky is lit up in a kind of... moving artwork. Everyone gathers to watch.

[bloodbiter]

It sounds beautiful... It must be breathtaking. But, you mentioned Naboo is a planet? How far did people have to travel to see it?

[resnipstance]

Oh-- I'm not sure. I think they celebrate it all over. ... Maybe?

[Ahsoka was only there the once, and she was technically on assignment.]

Is the display large enough to be seen across the planet?

[resnipstance]

I think there are multiple displays! I definitely heard other fireworks going off all over the city.

[bloodbiter]

How interesting! It must take a great deal of work to prepare such a thing.
