Yes, I know, but I disagree that that is any reason to go to such lengths. We would only be perpetuating a habitual way of thinking and that will do him no good. I don't feel comfortable taking advantage of what, to me from experience, is a sort of publicly accepted abusive upbringing. We should let him make his own choices. He knows his options. Let him decide how he wants to approach this situation.

The dangers that struck us when I was here before couldn't have been avoided much with vigilance. I don't know about now.

Maybe if we had never been forced to stop on the first planet. Many of us, including myself, contracted a disease. The other dangers... well, if people are attacked on the waystations or we have our minds tampered with again... There is only so much we can do.

The implants are a tampering in and of themselves. Additionally, it seems some of us have had our memories tinkered with— parts erased.
