[ The video starts with Charles sitting on his wheelchair, his hands neatly folded on his lap. He rubs faint circles on his legs for a few seconds, the only real sign of tension. ]

Hello. My names is Charles Xavier. I am a geneticist graduated from Oxford. I -- [ ran ] -- run a school in Westchester for the Gifted. Mutants. People with abilities. My focus is the training and control of abilities we do not always fully understand, abilities that are gifts but can often run amok.

[ He pauses, catching his second wind before continuing on, poised. ]

I am also a telepath with a full set of abilities in aiding the mind and extremely . . . proficient. I do not read minds without permission, because honestly, I really don't care.

[ Charles pauses again, wondering if he should say more and dismisses it. People can ask him if they need details - which they will. ]

If anyone would like to make use of my abilities and skills, they are certainly most welcome to. Confidentiality, of course, is key and you need not make anything public if you do not wish to. If you have any questions for me, the floor is open for you.

[ Though normally he could. The ships are not that far apart, but the Atroma had seen fit to limit him. ]

[So many thoughts he was having and he was extremely happy no one could see them.]

Now. How many times have you abused your powers?

A few times, when I was younger. I will use it to defend myself, if the situation calls for it.

[ He wonders if Trask was ever this bold. He didn't know the man, not personally. He only knew what the man took. ]

I can understand using one's mind to defend yourself.

[Of course his involved more subterfuge, and less reading thoughts.]

[ Charles nods. ]

I am powerful. I have abused it. But I've changed. I'm afraid that's the only guarantee I can offer. Honesty.

Well, I do prefer honesty to lying. So unless you threaten me and mine with your ... enormous mind powers, I will not attempt to take you out with mine.

Oh no worries, I am fairly certain you could take me quite out of play. I can only manipulate, after all, with words.

[ He shakes his head. ]

I wouldn't underestimate words.

I never do.

[He looks amused, tipping her head at the other man.]

I am slightly out of my league when we are dealing with people with extraordinary powers. though.

Even people with powers are . . . just people. Our experiences may vary, but our feelings don't.

[He gave the other man a pensive look, then a nod.]

That is quite true.

At least, in my experience.

[Tyrion leaned in a little, looking thoughtful.] You seem like a man who has had a lot of experience with such things.

I suppose. My powers allow me to feel things the way anyone else would.

Do you feel them more? Because you have access to others thoughts and emotions.

[ He runs a hand through his hair. ]

I feel it strongly. I hesitate to call it more. It depends on how many people I am connected to at that moment.

[Another rub of his beard, as he considered that.]

I will admit, I have a greater connection with a larger group of people - but I have more effect when I am speaking to one person alone.

I believe that's called charisma.

[ He shakes his head. ] It's close, but it's not like my gift.

Ah yes ... I do seem to have quite a bit of that.

[One corner of his mouth twisted.] We do not have to speak of your gifts any longer, if you do not wish to, Professor Xavier.

[ Charles shakes his head. It is certainly odd discussing this with a man who looks like Trask. But Charles isn't going to move forward if he isn't upfront about his abilities. ]

I certainly don't mind. As I said, I'm open to queries.

Oh good.

[Because Tyrion can put forth queries all day.]

So why are you offering your services?

Why?

[ That question was surprising. ] Because it's useful. A few people have already asked for my help. It simply made sense to go public about it.
