Who: Anakin Skywalker
Broadcast: Fleetwide
Action: Paisley
When: Right meow
There are a lot of questions and interests about other worlds lately. I have one question that I'm interested in right now. [ Alright, Ankain you can do this. Forget about that scolding Obi-Wan voice in your head telling you that the future is always changing. ] Does your universe-- do you believe in fate?
[ Oh, great. It sounds like a load of bantha dung when he actually hears it out loud. Awkwardly: ]
Destiny.
[ That doesn't help, which is fine. It's fine. It goes against the Jedi teachings and feels wrong just saying it. Nevermind that things are different with each universe, so it can't be really applicable, right?
Whatever, roll with it.
He adds, without pause, a completely unnecessary definition. ]
That certain things needs to happen in the future.

I don't know. It's not something that I always think about. [ or like thinking about ] I do think that we have choices, but when certain events play out the way they do, it makes me wonder if somethings are already too late to be changed. If that's what destiny is.

Those are wise words, Riona. Thank you.

[A beat.]
May I ask what spurred this question?

I'll condense it for you. First time I met a Jedi, he told me I was the Chosen One. I'm suppose to bring "balance to the Force". That's my destiny. I was nine, and now I'm 22. And there is no balance in me, nevermind the Force. The galaxy's at war, we're not losing but we're not winning either, and I think I might have caused the destruction of a whole realm. I don't know what to do.
[ A shrug ]
That's the short of it.
private
That is... a heavy burden to place on anyone, let alone a child of nine. What makes them believe you're this Chosen One?
[Gonna start with that and ... work their way through the rest of that. Because that is a lot to comb through.]
private
[ A beat ]
I'm not sure if I've explained that one to you before.

There was a prophecy in some ancient texts. Someone strong in the Force will come and bring balance to it.

There were... other instances. The short version is I was ... pulled into a world. The beings there were made purely of the Force. I had the power to control them. I'm not sure anyone else could have.
Re: private
So why must this Force be balanced? That implies there was an imbalance at some point.
private
The Sith are the ones that causes this imbalance - by spreading terror, doubts, anger, despair, all the things that comes with war.
[ He slams his fist on the table ]
Blast, why did I see it sooner!
private
See what sooner?
private
I was close with someone who might be a Sith.
private
And you had no idea?
Re: private
This is a betrayal and he isn't even here to [ defend himself? No. ] stand up to his crimes.
