Who: Anakin Skywalker
Broadcast: Fleetwide
Action: Paisley
When: Right meow
There are a lot of questions and interests about other worlds lately. I have one question that I'm interested in right now. [ Alright, Ankain you can do this. Forget about that scolding Obi-Wan voice in your head telling you that the future is always changing. ] Does your universe-- do you believe in fate?
[ Oh, great. It sounds like a load of bantha dung when he actually hears it out loud. Awkwardly: ]
Destiny.
[ That doesn't help, which is fine. It's fine. It goes against the Jedi teachings and feels wrong just saying it. Nevermind that things are different with each universe, so it can't be really applicable, right?
Whatever, roll with it.
He adds, without pause, a completely unnecessary definition. ]
That certain things needs to happen in the future.

Why are you asking about destiny, anyway?

[She already knows the answer to this one, anyway. She and Obi Wan have been talking about prophecies.]

[ He shrugs. Since she's honest with it, it wouldn't be fair for him to stall anymore. ]
I don't know. Everyone's got a destiny. Maybe I wanted to know if anyone else knows of theirs. Maybe I'm just trying to do what your teacher said.

...I don't think because someone tells you that you're meant to do something that you should feel forced to do it. But if you want to, that's different, isn't it?
no subject
My guess? If I want to or I'm forced, either way it's a destiny. It just depends on who's making it for you, yourself or someone else.

I like the idea that destiny doesn't really exist, so you could change anything you like about your life just by turning left instead of right. But I suppose the world isn't always fun like that.

It doesn't matter. It's not too important right now. [ A snort ] Unless we're destined to be here, for Atroma's entertainment.
[ At least he can joke about it ... right ]

[It occurs to her that the fae do generally believe in destiny. They have entire artes based around the fact. But then that's also kind of classed as forcing a destiny, which isn't the same thing. Is it?]
If destiny does exist, I wonder if there's ways you can break it. There should be ways. [Otherwise it's not very fair. Which is a running pattern, really.]

[So there.]
Or well -- in most cases, probably. You should be able to get rid of it if it's not.

I don't know a lot of younglings that thinks about these things. I know if I had a choice, I wouldn't have.
no subject
I told you. I'm much older than I look.
[Well... sort of.]

[ Yes he still thinks that's your name ]
no subject
Oh. Well.
...I'm probably at least eleven by now.
