Captain's Log 03 - Science!
Who: Jim Kirk & You
Broadcast: YES
Action: For the Tourist, sure
When: Now
Good day everyone, this is Jim Kirk speaking, of the Tourist. If I could have your attention for one moment -
I have a request - I'm looking for someone who is good with chemical analysis of biological materials. Namely flora from the moon. My ship isn't equipped for an analysis and I'll be the first to admit that such analysis has never been my forte. I would like a partner in figuring out what chemicals, exactly, have affected the planet. I believe this is one of the first steps in helping the people here recover.
Feel free to contact me on this line or come to the Tourist and request to see me.
Thank you for you time. Kirk out.
[ ooc: I have gotten permission from the mods for this as well what chemicals would be discovered from the flora Kirk has been collecting. If you are interested in the analyzing, I will happily share that information :) ]

That's one way of putting it, but.. accurate.
video;
Er. If you like, I can come visit when I get a chance? I'll bring what I've found so far.

Re: video;
Oddly enough, I am. I'm sort of the ghost of this ship some nights.
So, now you said?
video;
If you'd like to, yeah.
Re: video;
Like you said, no schedules. Let me gather up what I have. I'll be over in about twenty.
What ship did you say you were on again?
Re: video;
I'm on the Blameless. I'll see you in twenty or so?
Re: video;
Twenty then. Kirk out.
[ The feed goes dark, but around twenty minutes later Hank would be buzzed or whatever it is one has to do to get attention outside a ship. He has a backpack with him and container under one arm. ]
action;
But Hank meets him in the docking area once his shuttle lands, giving a small wave when Kirk steps out]
Welcome to the Blameless.
Re: action;
[ Kirk really doesn't understand why he's such a big deal, not that anyone has sad as much. The idea that his lie is a tv show and a movie series has not yet been bought up to him. He seeks Hank and smiles, waving back, a container a back-pack indeed with him as he exits and comes over. ]
It's good to be here, and I look forward to working with you. Once we get these settled I can show you the preliminary results we've gotten from the labs on my ship, but I'm hoping you have some other equipment we can use to get more finite details.
no subject
Mm, I look forward to working with you too. [he gestures for Kirk to follow him to his lab] I've been using whatever the lab has to offer, so I don't know if that's more or less what you've been using. But I'd love to see your results - I can show you what I've got so far as well.
no subject
Well, we won't know until we see it, will we? And even if you do, you might know some other tests to run. I know science, but I won't claim to be a complete expert.
[ He gives a grin. ]
That's what I have science officers for.
As for results.
[ He brings out a data-pad of some sort, probably gotten on the last station they went to. ]
All right here. I can send you the files while we unpack the samples.
no subject
He opens his mouth to reply to Kirk but then he spots the data-pad and his brows furrow in complete confusion. What in the world is that]
I—yeah, I know a few of a few tests people don't normally run. Plus a few outside the standard go-tos. If you could send the files that'd be great.
But I have to ask - what is that? [he nods to the datapad]
no subject
[ He glances at the tablet like device and back at Hank. ]
It's a data pad. Or I guess another term is a computer, it just has less processing power than some.

[ He cocked his head, curious as to that reaction, but maybe he was from a time or a world where they did not have such things yet. It made him chuckle. ]
This is actually a little bigger than I'm used to in my world, but it serves its purpose here.
[ He holds it out to him. ]
Want to give it a try?
no subject
Hank takes it as if it's made of glass after a long moment of staring, with both hands]
What do I do?

[ Kirk reached out and tapped a button at the bottom of the hardware, and the screen lit up. He slid it, where a number pad appeared and he tapped in a sequence. ]
There you go. Now you just use your fingers to navigate through it.
