Captain's Log 03 - Science!
Who: Jim Kirk & You
Broadcast: YES
Action: For the Tourist, sure
When: Now
Good day everyone, this is Jim Kirk speaking, of the Tourist. If I could have your attention for one moment -
I have a request - I'm looking for someone who is good with chemical analysis of biological materials. Namely flora from the moon. My ship isn't equipped for an analysis and I'll be the first to admit that such analysis has never been my forte. I would like a partner in figuring out what chemicals, exactly, have affected the planet. I believe this is one of the first steps in helping the people here recover.
Feel free to contact me on this line or come to the Tourist and request to see me.
Thank you for you time. Kirk out.
[ ooc: I have gotten permission from the mods for this as well what chemicals would be discovered from the flora Kirk has been collecting. If you are interested in the analyzing, I will happily share that information :) ]

[And sure enough he'll be over with a small stack of papers. Once Kirk has a chance to look though some is stories and information Vash has gotten about the terraforming from natives. Others will be figures on the terraforming equipment itself. Measurements and options he's ruled out or thought it could be listed out.
Vash himself is a fairly tall man, although looking taller than he is thanks to his upright hair style. Mostly made of arms and legs under his red coat and a smile on his face.]
Kirk, right? Hope this can help out some.

[ He offers for Vash to come inside as he looks over the papers he brings, also offering coffee while the machine was deciding to play nice. It was a temperamental thing. Kirk would need to think up new sweet words to whisper to it the next time it threw a fit. The man certainly is gangly, which is surprising, but let's be honest - he's seem stranger. ]
It's great. Especially these figures on the equipment. I actually want to find a way in to get a closer look at them if we can. I have a hunch they might be a large cause of what's been happening to this moon.

You and me both. The heart of any terraforming equipment is usually on the inside. Just looking on the outside won't always tell you much. Except there is something more on the inside. And the ones on this planet look like they could hold a lot on the inside. Or, are empty cases, but I don't think that's likely.
But it does look like these were designed to dig into the ground. [Which was a little different from the majority on his planet.]

True. I can't say if that's the cause, but it seems damn unlikely that the toxins and the fact those terraformers go into the earth is unrelated. Of course, even if we do figure out they are the cause, who knows if we can put a stop to it?
[ He shook his head. ]
To many ifs. And I hate those. We'll just have to wait and see once we get inside.
