Good day everyone, this is Jim Kirk speaking, of the Tourist. If I could have your attention for one moment -

I have a request - I'm looking for someone who is good with chemical analysis of biological materials. Namely flora from the moon. My ship isn't equipped for an analysis and I'll be the first to admit that such analysis has never been my forte. I would like a partner in figuring out what chemicals, exactly, have affected the planet. I believe this is one of the first steps in helping the people here recover.

be excited kirk, the equipment is basic, but it's good. if you know what you're doing - you can build up on it. ]

She let's me use it for chemical analysis - since, it's for her anyway.

[ and they're trying to keep it fairly private, and doing it in his room is probably a terrible idea, he wouldn't get superpowers out of a mishap, he'll just sick. ]

If you're the one making the most use of it, perhaps you could convince her to let you repurpose the room entirely.

[ being sick is so much worse, and he has nightmares about it from time to time. sick in space. just what he needs. ]

It's fine, I got a standing invitation to invade Hank's lab on the Blameless if I need something not as private.

[ basically, anything that doesn't have to do with project plato. also read as: he doesn't want to bother kara. ]

Still, if we're going to have these things like this on the ship, it might not be a bad idea to get you a proper room for it. I'll look into it, see where we have the space.

to do things for Kara, but it's almost getting to the point of obsessive

[ it's not because you can't go to the hospital or chill in your apartment and order soup. ]

Heh, I wouldn't thank me just yet. It's all part of my secret plan to slowly turn this hunk of metal into the Enterprise.

_{[ He laughs to show he's joking, though honestly he wouldn't mind. Then they'd have a proper entertainment deck and bridge. ]}

And the downside is?

[ you're talking like he has any positive feelings towards the tourist, beyond being happy that kara and jim are here with him, and that they have private rooms. ]

Well, nothing can ever measure up to my lady, now can it?

Come here - [ he leans in close like he's about to share some secret, and whispers ] You were trying to make it sound like your plan to turn the Tourist into it is something to be concerned about. You're doing a terrible job.

[ leaning back with a cheeky grin. look he's still not seeing the downside! ]

_{[ He laughed and shoved at him in a brotherly way. ]}

I'm just trying to make sure I don't set your expectations to very high.

[ he laughs at that shove, honestly just happy hanging out with jim. ]

Too late, it's the Enterprise or no go. [ he hasn't even seen it, man! or he has, but he doesn't connect that he has because of the stupid augment. ]

No pressure, right?

_{[ He rolled his eyes. ]}

Or all of it, should I get you a giant countdown clock?

[ he begins to hum countdown music ]

I feel like I should get what that tune you're humming means, but...

_{[ He shook his head. ]}

It means you're on the clock.

[ super serious nodding. ]

That so, huh? What happens when I don't meet my deadline?

[ turning as serious and threatening as he can muster (it's not very threatening). ]

You don't wanna find out.

_{[ He laughed, holding up his hands. ]}

All right, all right, deadline, I got it.

[ two fingers point to his own eyes - and then at kirk ]

So, you taking anything? [ he needs to know what equipment he's doing without and for how long ]

Hmm? No, there's not much point in transferring it planet side. I would rather just run the tests here and get what data we can.

[ he nods, yeah that makes sense ]

Lemme know if I can help in any way. [ he hasn't volunteered for it because if he takes on one more huge project he may just explode, but if he can help in little ways and it's going on on his ship anyway - of course he's happy to. ]
