[and she is at least not a ghost or something with fangs or a horrible, indescribable dream creature, so... really, this is off to a good start. his gaze goes back to the floor while he brushes more scraps of paper off his coat sleeves.]

[ Nope, not a ghost or a monster of any kind. Just a pilot. A green one. ]

Nice to meet you. Do you know what augment you've been given?

[the subject of augments prompts him to rub at his neck (even if it does knock a little more confetti out of his collar).

but he doesn't say anything. he'd glanced back at where the armory must be, but... his knowledge isn't matching up. pieces are missing. he used to know tons of things about the weapons systems on his own ship, but it's... different now...

but being the social genius he is, of course he doesn't actually voice any of that.]

[ Hera watches him, patiently waiting for a response. When none seems forthcoming, she tilts her head a little. ]

I'm gonna take that as a "no".

[...oh, right. words. finally taking a step back, he points down the hall.]

Used to be security. Now, it's... [looking around the bridge, he eventually zeroes in... on... the equipment right behind the weird green girl, actually.]

...That. [the word fills itself in for him a second later:] Pilot.

[firstrebel]

[ Aha, now we're getting somewhere! ]

Oh, that's good. I could use some more help up here. Have you done any piloting before?

[theboogieman]

[he shakes his head, but he starts walking towards the helm anyway. he looks interested in whatever there is to see up here, finally engaged in what's going on.]

[ Hera keeps an eye on him as he moves. ]

Your augment will have provided you the basics of how to operate the equipment, though I'd like to supervise you for a couple hours to make sure you've got a good handle on it.

[he does have kind of a constant stalking nature about him. must be part of the whole "skullface" persona. he doesn't get too close for comfort, but at least near enough to see the displays and let the layouts overlap with the new map of information unfolding off the top of his head.

...after several long seconds of silence, he tilts his head again.]

Which ship is this? [...was he not listening before? you bet he wasn't.]

[ Great. Who knows how much of that he was even paying attention to. Oh well, at least he's not belligerent. ]

[he's had a hell of a space-week. she is being incredibly patient, all things considered.]

Used to the other controls... [pointing up at some panel over the window.] ...on the Red Fish. This one's got shuttles, right...?
