Oh, well, we'll figure it out at some point. Not a problem.

[ She gives a vague shrug. ]

It gets kind of boring on the ships sometimes, but the Iskaulit - the bigger ship in the fleet, not the one you arrived on - has lots to do, and we'll often stop at a planet or space station as well.

[castrationfist]

[She nods, reaching into one of her sleeves to pull out the communicator.]

I read what I could on this, so I'm mostly familiar with the situation. We are currently trapped around a planet covered in a poison equal to that of the plains of Nasu, if I understand correctly. And there is no scheduled time for departure.

[firstrebel]

That's about right. You can visit the moon if you like - they'll give you a special mask to wear so you won't get sick. But we've been here for a while now - chances are, we'll be leaving before too long.

[castrationfist]

I think I'll pass on that... It's a bit too nostalgic for me.

[Of course, last time, she was the poison, but she doesn't need to mention that.]

Can you tell me more of the Iskaulit?

[firstrebel]

Yeah - I guess you could call it a recreation vessel. There are all sorts of things to do there. There's a training center for exercise, a garden, some bars...

[castrationfist]

Well... At least the garden sounds nice. I'll look at those later.

We really aren't given much to do here, though, are we...

[firstrebel]

I'm afraid not - we largely have to find our own entertainment. Try the network device - sometimes people have interesting things to say. It's a good way to at least socialize.

[castrationfist]

I have been, but it's still boring when that's all there is to do... It's not like there's a lot of talking on the network, either.

[ Hera has to shrug at that. ]

I'm sorry - not a lot I can do about it.

That's fine, now I have people to talk to in person! That will be quite entertaining, I think.

That's true - you can at least come and go as you please in the fleet. You're not confined to one or two ships.

Ah, that is a relief! That will make it much easier to find a Master, too.

[firstrebel]

[ That gets a slow blink from Hera. Oh, dear. Is she another former slave, like Koala? ]

Master. With a capital M.

...Right, well. People don't own other people here. That's not how this works. We're all equally prisoners of the Atroma, no need to go further.

[ If she caught anyone doing it, they'd be getting her boot to their face. Repeatedly. ]

Eh... I never said anything about "owning". I'm a Servant, not a slave. If someone thought they could own me, they would probably wake up as a potato bug.

[firstrebel]

You can try to find a job, if you like. And I do expect everyone on this crew to help pull their weight, keeping the ship clean and such.

[castrationfist]

Eeh, what a non-sequitur. It's okay, though, I'm very low-maintenance! I won't dirty the ship at all.

[to demonstrate, she... vanishes entirely into a cloud of gold sparkles, which vanish as well.]

[ It's not a non-sequitur! Hera is just uncomfortable with language like "servant" and "slave" and would rather try to redirect that energy to something that sounds a bit more positive, like "a job". And to impress upon her that everyone is equal and no one is anyone's "servant" on her ship, dangit.

But that disappearing act is abrupt, so she'll just... blink. ]

...Okay.

[And then she reappears, in those same golden sparkles.]

See? I can just take my spiritual form. I don't need food or anything, and I won't be leaving fur around the ship, so fear not!

That's fine, but you can still help out around the ship.

[ Honestly, at this point, not much genuinely shocks Hera anymore. ]

'Help out' how, exactly...?

[firstrebel]

Cooking, cleaning, basic maintenance. If everyone contributes, no one has to do a whole lot.

This was not at all what I meant when I said I wished to serve mortals...

You have plenty of free time here, regardless. If that's what you want to do with it, I suppose nobody's stopping you.
