Who: natalie goodman
Broadcast: yes!
Action: on the pathstone, if you want to know why she's up at a ridiculous hour of the night
When: 5/25 during an aforementioned ridiculous hour
we're still stuck on this poison shithole and everyone hates it so let's talk about something that doesn't 100% suck for once okay?
what's the first thing you're going to do when you make it home and out of the void of space

You never know. There's all sorts of people here, someone might get you interested in something else, or something you were already interested in.
text;
yeah a lot of good that'll do me
text;
It gives you options. Who knows, I could convince you to strive higher than Yale.
text;
yeah if i ever make it home
text;
You will.
Btw (is that right?) I'm going to convince you to strive higher than Yale.
text;
wtf man it's the best school in the country what do you want from me
text;
It might be the best school in the country but that doesn't necessarily mean it's the best for what you want to do, which you said you weren't sure about yet.
text;
well it's kind of late for that most places are full by like the middle of winter
text;
It's never too late to look, though. Or write your applications and do whatever else is required to be accepted. A later start isn't a bad thing, it just gives you more time to do what you have to.
text;
i'm not spending another year at home waiting for the next time applications open
text;
Do they only accept them once a year? You could always go somewhere else for the first year to get some of the lower level classes out of the way.
text;
the earlier you put them in the more likely you are to get in, by now i could technically apply places still but there are no spots left so i'd just get rejected
& it's basically impossible to get a full ride if you switch to another school after your first year
text;
I completely forgot about the full ride thing. That's stupid.
Do programs like that require internships at some point? Or something similar? You could always spend that year getting experience of some kind.

i mean
"why do you care" sounds kind of snotty but in the least snotty way possible, why do you care?
text;
Is it a cheating answer to say I'm a teacher - or will be - so I'm a little biased?
It might sound corny or nerdy but whenever people talk about going on to college past high school I want to encourage it. I mean, it might also be because I went to school in the 50s so it's a different time, but getting an education is important. And music is an entirely different entity in that respect, because it seems like you're doing something you love, too. So why wouldn't I care?
text;
idk it's just kind of weird
i mean not that you're weird though you probably are BUT THE POINT IS i'm not used to talking about stuff like this with people i don't know very well i guess
text;
That makes sense, though. Sorry if it was weird, but I like hearing about these kind of things.

But I tend to expect the worst rather than hoping for the best a lot. Not a very optimistic outlook.
