[So we've been stuck on the poison moon for a couple months now, so a lot of people probably want to get away from that.

Unfortunately, the only place you really can get away from it besides your own ship is the Iskaulit. So, here's a June Iskaulit mingle!]

[ Meditation room ]

[ Hera has taken quite a liking to meditation since Ahsoka started teaching her how. It's turned into a great way to relax, clear her head, and process her thoughts and feelings. Normally, piloting would be a way for her to do this, but she's not much of a pilot here. Oh, she can drive the ship, within certain parameters, but she has no real control over where they go, she's no longer doing most of the navigational work herself. It's a pretty poor facsimile of what she does back home. Thus, meditation.

Though, she's not the greatest at it, either. Sometimes she cracks an eye open, if someone enters the room or speaks, or just makes a loud noise. She's curious. ]

[ Library ]

[ Hera is the first to admit she's not a big reader. She'd rather be doing, than reading about it. But she needs new things to do with her free time, new ways to get away from an ungrateful crew and her inability to do anything real to help them.

So she starts poking around in the library, unsure what she's looking for, really, just curious. And maybe hoping to find something - anything - that might help her figure out how to get home. ]

[ The Space bar ]

[ Much like with books, Hera doesn't usually spend a lot of time hanging around in bars. They can be useful places to meet and do clandestine business, but she's not really the sort to sit around in them drinking just for the heck of it.

But she could stand to get out a bit more, and meet a few more people, so here she is, nursing a beer - nothing very strong, she doesn't like being intoxicated. ]

[Caster's been in the library for a while herself, trying to do something to entertain herself that won't take much of her energy. So, near what looks to be an unattended pile of books, Caster will just do that thing where she materializes out of thin air.]

Oh? Captain, you come here too?

[ Hera gives Caster a faint nod and a smile. ]

Well, like you said, it's not like there's much to do around here. We have to find entertainment where we can.

And there are some good stories here, too. Sometimes it's hard to tell what's supposed to be fact, and what's fiction.

[Judging by the sudden twitching of her tail, this topic has caught her interest.]

The correct answer is usually 'both'. All stories blend fact and fiction, after all, and in the end, who can say which parts are true and which invented?

I... guess so. [ Hera, obviously, has not put much thought into it. ] Where I come from, there are bad people who tell a lot of lies to make themselves sound not so bad.

That is true everywhere. As they say, history is written by the winners. Once you've wiped out your enemies, your way is automatically correct, and whatever you say becomes the truth.

[Her ears droop slightly as she speaks, but her tone remains cheerful.]

Well, the only thing for it is to keep an open mind when you read these stories! After all, in all of history, there has never been a single person who did not believe they were justified in their actions. If you try to look at things from the villains' point of view, you might see some things you missed before.

[ Hera has to smile a little at that, though it's not an especially happy one. ]

That, I know. Being able to think like them can help find their weaknesses.

[ It's one of the reasons why she's been having such trouble with Atroma. ]

... Well, that's not what I meant, but you're not wrong... You have a mentality suited to be a Master.

[After all, how much time did she spend running around with Hakuno, learning as much about her enemies as she could, in order to discover their weaknesses?]

But sometimes, you'll find out the ones who history and stories record as evil were actually the good guys.

[ Hera is still really uncomfortable with the connotations of "Master", so she just sort of ignores that statement. ]

I know that, too. It's exactly what happened to the Jedi.

[it's okay, hera, it doesn't mean what you think. it just means you'd have to murder people. ... wait, that's not helping, is it?]

The... "Jedi"?

They were an ancient order, dedicated to preserving peace in the galaxy. When the Empire consolidated its power, they were outlawed. The official story is that they betrayed the old Republic, but some of us know better.

... I see. It's not an uncommon story. When a conqueror takes over, the old government and religion become outlawed, and made evil.

Did they survive?

Most of them? No. Killed by their own army. They were the ones betrayed. The Order as it existed is gone - possibly forever.

But there are still a couple of people with the training.

Do you think they will be able to keep their story alive?

Hah, I don't know. That probably depends on whether we can actually dismantle the Empire.

_{[ Normally Kirk tried to use the gardens to meditate. He liked the smell of the flowers and Earth there better. But it was crowded today, so he had come to try this room instead. If it didn't work, he planned to go back to his room, but that had never been a good place for him to meditate. It always felt so confining.

He came into the room, looking around curiously before spotting Hera. He opened his mouth to greet her and stopped himself with a click of his teeth. Meditation room, right. Instead he tried to move quietly past her to pick his own space in the room to try and find his zen - or something like that. ]}

[ Of course, Hera isn't good enough at it yet to be able to tune out even small disturbances, so at the sound, she cracks an eye open - and spots Kirk.

That brings a smile to her face, as he's so obviously trying not to disturb her. Hera likes Kirk. He's good people. ]

Hey there.

_{[ Ah, she had already noticed him. He relaxed himself, smiling back at
her and shifting his path to come to her side. ]}

Hey, good to see you again. I didn't disturb you, did I?

No. I'm not really very good at this yet. [ She smiles faintly. ] Still learning.

_{[ He smiled back, coming to settle himself down beside her. ]}

That makes two of us. I'm not very good at the sitting still thing, if I'm honest.

Yeah. I suppose if I really wanted to, I could try making this into some kind of holiday, but... I wouldn't know what to do with myself, even if I wasn't constantly worried about things back home.

Hence, the meditation, honestly.

No hobbies to keep yourself busy?
