Who: Everyone
Broadcast: N/A
Action: Iskaulit
When:

[So we've been stuck on the poison moon for a couple months now, so a lot of people probably want to get away from that.

Unfortunately, the only place you really can get away from it besides your own ship is the Iskaulit. So, here's a June Iskaulit mingle!]

[she's certainly a familiar face, one of many he sees fairly often. You start noticing who's a regular after a certain point, after all, and while he tends to get lost in what he's doing, he's still observant.

He glances up at blinks when she sits at his table, though, and he reaches up to fix his glasses as they slide down his nose. The question throws him off a bit, but he still smiles a little wryly and shrugs]

I've found a lot of somethings. Just never a something I really want to find.

[like a way out, or a way to stop a goddess, or you know, anything important like that]

What is it that you want to find?

( Could it be a coincidence if they were looking for the same thing? Probably not. Smart people wanting to get out of here is not an unusual thing )

Exit strategies.

[he figures that's vague enough that she'll get it, and he isn't giving the damned audience or Atroma too much] Among other things.

( There's a nod. She knows exactly what he's looking up )

Maybe it's not in the most obvious place. Al the doors we can see don't lead anywhere.

( Let's talk in code it's all good )

[oh he likes her already. He shoots a brief, understanding smile]

No, they don't. And some of them don't open, either. [oh, how he had tried]

It might be more of a matter of making a door, rather than finding an existing one.

Magic, or do you have another method in mind?

( If only there was someone with drawing life here, that would help. Unless their magic was bound as it had been in Asgard )

That's what the research is for.

[even if he found a magical option, he couldn't use it. So he'd either have to find someone who could, or find another way all together.

And he didn't want to even attempt anything until he had back-up plans]

Do you have any notes on possible theories so far?

( Lydia's got the notes of things that people have tried in the paste, like Leia's recent ventures, but nothing too much )

[he flips back a few pages in his notebook, then offers it to her]

Not a lot, I'm afraid. I don't have my notes from home, either - I was looking into something similar, but I'd only just started when I ended up here.

You were looking at being able to travel between worlds at home?

( Or just randomly creating doors. Either or. But she'll have a look down at his notebook, even if there isn't too much )

I was. [a little sheepishly] This isn't the first time I've been dragged to another world.

[as complicated as it would be, if he ever found a way. Stupid game mechanics]

Or mine. ( Mental high five ) What was yours called?

[personal profile] beathach 2016-06-14 07:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Really? [mental high five indeed. He kept running into people who'd done the world-hopping thing already, more or less] I went somewhere called Kyriakos.

( There's a nod )

I was in Asgard. I've heard a lot of people here say that they came from somewhere else first. In Asgard it was everyone's first trip to somewhere else.
beathach: (59)

[personal profile] beathach 2016-06-18 06:04 pm (UTC)(link)
It wasn't like that in Kyriakos. I've heard of people being other places, even before that. Places similar to Kyriakos or - just other places in general.

[personal profile] intelligently 2016-06-21 09:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Maybe for Asgard it had to be our first time to a place? The gods already had to change what we could do to be there, maybe being somewhere else first would have been incompatible with their world?
beathach: (178)

[personal profile] beathach 2016-06-22 03:04 am (UTC)(link)
It's entirely possible. I mean, I've heard of other worlds similar to the one I went to, but - no one's ever mentioned being elsewhere before that, either. Though I wouldn't be surprised if other places had rules in place for who or what they bring in.
intelligently: (sᴇᴠᴇɴᴛʏ ᴛᴡᴏ)

[personal profile] intelligently 2016-06-29 06:41 pm (UTC)(link)
What was your place like?
beathach: (177)

[personal profile] beathach 2016-06-30 01:23 am (UTC)(link)
It . . . varied. We were told our worlds were destroyed and that we were there because the realm pulled in what was rest of our soul. But we were amnesiac because of that, too. So we'd have to compete in order to win back pieces of our soul, and if we were able to do that, we'd restore our worlds and go home.

So we'd compete, and the competitions themselves could be anything - harmless and fun or . . . the other side of the spectrum.
